Yes that should be fine there’s plenty of space. I use for a nursery bag for my son and I fit in lots of spare clothes, coat, the included lunch box full of bottles and then lots of other stuff in the front pockets. It’s a great little set for the money.

I don’t know about yr 11. I got this for my granddaughter just turned 9. She needed a back big enough for a day at the beach studying different things. It had to be big enough for clipboard, iPad, coat, and anything else needs this. I was amazed at the room in this bag. Each pocket is deep, and usable, unlike many. She loves it. And as she has a school bag of similar size where she needs to carry many books etc. I would say yes. You can always send it back if it’s not suited I guess.
