We use this when we are washing our toddler’s lunch boxes etc and we have our own pots or plates inside as well. It cleans good.

I like it because it is fragrance free and cleans dishes well

I think a lot of people don't quite realise how caustic dishwasher tablets are. Think about it... When you're washing plates by hand you use washing up liquid and scrubbers. You scrub scrub scrub at the plates until they come clean. Inside a dishwasher, it's really just splashing a little hot water at the plates. It's not scrubbing them, and it's not hosing them down with a powerful jet, it's just dribbling water down them. So, how do they get the plates so clean? Because the tablet is horribly corrosive, and eats through anything biological. So you can imagine what happens when those chemicals get out into the water system... Fish are biological, as are frogs, plants and so on. So, it's always a good idea to try to reduce the amount of these chemicals we put into the water system. It's also why we don't want kids eating them. The block would literally start to dissolve you from the inside! Ecover's tablets use digesters that are easier on the environment and degrade faster, so they don't remain harmful for long. They're not quite as powerful, so you will need to wash off the bigger chunks of food, but they get everything sparkling clean, and everything smells fresh when they come out. Next time you are thinking of getting "super power" tablets, try these instead, and just take an extra few minutes to wash off the bigger chunks before putting them in the dishwasher. It's better for the environment. @Amazon - I'm disturbed why "Flavour" is a rate-able feature for Dishwasher tablets?! Aren't we supposed to be telling people NOT to eat these things?
