Francesco's Italy: A Personal Journey through Italian Culture - Past and Present

This is a very interesting book by a very knowledgeable author. It provided many interesting information about the different places the author has visited. It is a valuable source of hints for anyone planning to visit Italy.

I just discovered this wonderful author & his TV program for BBC was incredible-makes me want to return to Italy today!

The best documentary/history of Italy's regions. Very well written and informative while keeping your attention. Wonderful photography. A book to treasure.

Is this on dvd and why don't you have it for sale. We saw it on the travel channel but would like the dvd. We enjoyed the program.

Francesco Da Mosto takes us through Italy and shows us the countryside, towns-food and customs.This along with Med Voyage and Venice, forms a trio of the most interesting books on Italy.Also worth getting is Francesco's Kitchen.All I can think of now is Francesco and IL BALLO DEL DOGE ! That would be an amazing collaboration between Antonia Sautter and Francesco should they want to do that project.The book on Italy should be accompanied with the DVD Italy top to toe.Quite a quality book, well bound, well written and fascinating.Thank you Francesco!

Very beautiful book

What a superb book, for all Italophiles like myself. It follows the series perfectly. If you missed it on TV - you can also buy the series off Amazon! Wonderful photographs, this book was highly influential in deciding our holidays this year, when we visited Italy and Sicily. Francesco is such a fine example of Italians, passionate, enthusastic and charming, he makes you want to pack up and move to Italy!

Lovely book on Italy

I loved the programme on BBC 4 and wanted to revisit the places described. The photographs are beautiful and the accompanying narrative just as good. Well worth purchasing as it could lead to planning a journey of your own, again, with this book as your guide. I cannot recommend this book enough.
