**Q: What amplifier or receiver power is needed or is a sufficient amount to powervthese speakers and can an 8 ohm receiver do the job without any damage?**
A: Thanks for your question. Polk recommended amplifier power: 30 - 200 watts and amplifier output compatibility 8, 6. and 4ohms. A 30 watt receiver that is 4 ohm capable would work as long as it is not driven into amplifier clipping (distortion) at higher volumes. 60 to 100 watts would be ideal.

A: You can put it on the floor, but it wouldn't be optimal placement. It is better to put it on a bookshelf or on a speaker stand that elevates the tweeter closer to your sitting height.
