![Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (2-Disc/SE/BD) [Blu-ray]](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/712k51P6+3S.jpg)

After a long summer with the horrid Dursleys, Harry Potter is thwarted in his attempts to board the train to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry to begin his second year. Harry's only transportation option is a magical flying car, but, unfortunately, it crashes into a valuable (and clearly vexed) Whomping Willow. Still, all this seems like a day in the park compared to what awaits Harry that fall within the haunted halls of Hogwarts. Chilling, malevolent voices whisper from the walls only to Harry, and it seems certain that his classmate Draco Malfoy is out to get him. Soon it's not just Harry who is worried about survival, as dreadful things begin to happen at the school. The mysteriously gleaming foot-high words on the wall proclaim: "The Chamber of Secrets Has Been Opened. Enemies of the Heir, Beware." Review: Great series - A great movie for a rainy day. Review: Good movie - Good movie

Everything I have ever wanted in a Harry Potter home video release
I made a much longer review about the Ultimate editions of the Harry Potter films in the review I posted for the Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (Ultimate Edition) [Blu-ray ] so I am just going to go over the highlights concerning this specific film in this review. For full details on why I think the Ultimate Editions are awesome, see my Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (Ultimate Edition) [Blu-ray ] review. The HD video and sound are excellent in this version of the film on blu-ray, just like they were for the other Ultimate Edition release. Yes, they are double dipping on this release (which is one of the reasons I think the price is relatively low), but I think it is worth it considering the fact that we are getting the extended edition of the film in blu-ray HD, plus an hour's long documentary with never before seen behind the scenes stuff as well. The blu-ray disc contains both the theatrical release, and the new extended version with cut scenes put back in. This film has 13 minutes of extra footage (most never seen before). The extra footage makes a *LOT* of scenes make more sense with those scenes back in! For instance, one of the new scenes shows Harry meeting Hagrid on the stairs on his way up to his dormitory. Hagrid is holding the dead chickens which were being killed in the book. Minutes later Harry stumbled upon the Hufflepuff boy who has been petrified by the basilisk. Minutes after that, as Harry is in Dumbledore's office explaining himself, Hagrid bursts in saying he knows it couldn't have been Harry, and that he would be willing to swear so to the Ministry of magic. With the extra scene back in showing Harry and Hagrid meeting on the stairs, it suddenly becomes clear how a.) Hagrid got there so fast, b.) how Hagrid knew Harry was in trouble, c.) that Hagrid was so SURE Harry was innocent. You will encounter scenes that expand your understanding of the films like that all over the extended edition. As for the extras, the blu-ray special features disc is the reason to buy this set. Specifically, for the hour long documentary included in each ultimate edition containing all of the behind-the-scenes stuff I have been wanting to see for such a long time now! They also do in depth interviews, and show stuff we have never seen before. I LOVED watching all of the green screening stuff they showed concerning Quidditch, the flying car, etc. I love the set, I love the price, I love the quality of the films in high definition blu-ray, and I love the extras. 5 stars, for this edition, no question.

A wonderful collector's item.
These box sets are extremely nice; at almost 7-3/4 inches (194mm) tall, 5-3/4 inches (145mm) deep and just over 2 inches (52mm) wide, make sure you have enough room on your shelf to display these (remember, there's going to be eight of these sets). The box itself has to be the best design of a blu-ray package I have seen yet, it is constructed of very heavy laminated cardstock with a magnetic catch to hold it shut and has a thin cardstock sleeve to protect it. The two blu-rays and one dvd are stored in a folding plastic and cardstock case that is kept inside the box. The film itself is beautifully remastered so the stunning scenery and impressive special effects truly come to life. If you are a true Harry Potter fan, then this Ultimate Edition is a must own especially on blu-ray. The contents include: A blu-ray disc with the theatrical version and the extended version with 19 deleted scenes of over 12 and a half minutes worth of film and the "In-movie experience" (picture in picture commentary with behind the scenes footage for the theatrical version only). Languages: Spoken - English, French, Spanish, Portuguese; Subtitled - English (for the hearing impaired), French, Spanish, Portuguese. A second blu-ray disc with special features such as: Behind the Story - -Creating the World of Harry Potter, Part 2: Characters - a behind the scenes documentary about the work the Directors and Designers went through to imagine the world for filming. (1 hour, 19 minutes) -Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets Revisited, an in-depth look at the 2nd movie to include interviews with the Actors and the Director (12 and a half minutes) Additional Footage - -Screen tests for Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson -Deleted scenes that are included in the extended version: Floating Cake, Borgin & Burkes, Exiting to Knockturn Alley, Flying Car over London, Harry Fins Kwikspell Letter, Harry meets Colin Creevey, Dark Arts Exam, Rogue Bludger, Harry meets Justin Finch-Fletchley, Harry Sits with Hedwig, Harry Overhears Students, Harry Runs into Hagrid, Ron and Hermione Question Harry, Polyjuice Preparation, Crabbe and Goyle, Ron Remembers Tom Riddle, Harry tells Ron about Hagrid, Harry and Ron use Invisibility Cloak, Finding Flying Car in Forbidden Forrest. Trailers and TV Spots - -2 Theatrical Trailers -17 TV Spots A dvd disc of various special features from the first special edition release on dvd (I think, since I never owned this dvd): -A quiz game about spell casting -A preview of the video game for Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets -Behind Hogwarts: Interviews with J.K. Rowling and Steve Rloves, A narrated interactive video tour of Dumbledore's office, A Special about building a scene, Interviews with Students, Professors and more, And a gallery of Production sketches -Dvd-rom features, packed full of cool stuff -Lockhart's classroom -Additional scenes, the 19 deleted scenes shown yet again -Activities, two challenge games, Colin's darkroom gallery and a tour of Diagon Alley An envelope with two collectible cards of a series (Rubeus Hagrid, Severus Snape) A disc for the digital copy And a photo book of stills and concept art from the entire storyline focusing on characters and wardrobe.
