Question 2

Why is this 1892% markup from Walmart's $0.89 gal?

Accepted Answer

Manage the Risk of Infection by avoiding Bacteria
Aquapap was designed to be a one time use single serving product. Pour it in and throw away the bottle. Most people use the same bottle for multiple pours creating a contaminated second, and third pour. Aquapap can only provide safe clean water when the bottle is first opened. Aquapap is offered in 8 ounce and 12 ounce bottles because a CPAP Machines water chamber can only hold up to 12 ounces.
****Steer clear of any brand that tells you that it is safe to use the same bottle or jug more than one time with with your medically necessary CPAP Machine.
See attached except from FDA Guidelines on the the use of sterile water bottles. The same logic applies.
************FDA excerpt ************
Preparation and Administration Instructions
For single-dose only. Sterile Water for Irrigation is available in a flexible plastic container and a plastic pour bottle. Use the contents of the opened container immediately to minimize the potential for bacteria growth and pyrogens formation. Discard the unused contents of opened containers, as Sterile Water for irrigation contains no anti microbial preservative.
