It’s real black
Love the texture and feel of the pencil. The color is a noir black. Glides very smooth - doesn’t appear to be waterproof though.. I still love it!

Don't buy not at all smudge proof
I purchased because I was thinking that this will give smudge proof and waterproof look to my eyes but all in vain..don't buy better to purchase cheaper brands like Swiss beauty or plum Kohl.
