Truly slow feed
I'm using this to slow feed my 3 horses so they don't run out of hay halfway through the day. It's working great. None of my horses are the destructive type, nor are they the type to panic if they have to work a little harder to get their food. This keeps them busy and truly slows them down. They've held up well to a month of rough use, they go on the ground and get stomped on and dragged about. (none of my horses have shoes)

Worked for my hungry horse - remember to give time to adapt
I stuffed it really full so the hay would stick out and used straw-like hay to help my horse adapt to this. It did get one snag in it but otherwise has held up great. It can hold a whole lot of hay! I can sometimes fit 4 flakes in it. And my horse has to work on it a while to get all the hay. He usually finds a place to tug and pulls a little through and keeps pulling through that one spot. He's smart :)

Best Ultra Nets
Partrade has the most durable, true 1" hole nets. It's too bad they're also the most expensive. I have to double-net my greedy mare's hay, so l also have the less expensive/less durable ultra nets from Jeffers; those go on the inside where they receive less teeth action. I remove the included ropes, hang the top net loops in large steel carabiners, & clip the carabiners together so the inside net doesn't collapse inside the outer net. I hang from a bolted D-ring at a level where it will be just off the floor when empty. My mare is shod in front, but does not paw at the net, so catching a shoe has not been an issue. Yes this is all more work, but worth it to avoid another choke episode.

1"x1" Holes too Small for a Horse
The holes in this net (1"x1") are very small, even when packed full and difficult for the horse to get much hay. If you want a hay "toy" to keep your horse busy, this would work. If the intent is to actually get some food to the horse, in my opinion, get one with the 2"x2" holes. We purchased another one with larger holes and found it to work much better -- even though our horse is a glutton and will choke. The 1"x1" holes were just far too small. Might be great for a goat or sheep.

Great for Goats (Yellow)
Nice, huge size when I purchased in yellow. (Not even close to the same size in pink.) Absolutely wonderful for our goat herd.

Frustrating for horses but great for smaller animals!
My experience is horses are frustrated by the very small holes. The feeder would be great for a small pony or other smaller animals. The feeder is strong and well made. Very happy with it.

True slow feeder
Small holes really do make this a slow feeder. Horses sometimes get frustrated Tough material and the drawstring is a different color and material so it's easy to tell where it is. It's not too long either.
