Excellent Chlorinator
Updated Review 8/10/22This is a 6 year usage review of this chlorine dispenser. I purchased my 1st one May 24, 2016 for $27.63. I just purchased this new one August 8, 2022 for $34.88. I scoffed at the price then and I really do now. Haha!! The price is crazy high BUT I can't dispute that it works. It's kept my 12,000 gallon pool in South Florida perfect with 1 tablet only and minimal liquid chlorine use during heavy loads of people. My house is in full sun, from sun up to around 6pm - 8pm depending on time of year. I also agree with another reviewer that you should around drill a 1/8 hole on each side so that gas escapes to prevent premature floating when there's a tablet still inside. I'm honestly not sure why this dispenser doesn't work for some people that have reviewed it but I highly recommend trying it. Hopefully I get another 6 years out of my new one!!Original review:This is one well thought out and great product. My chemical usage has dropped drastically. I have a 12000 gallon pool, so I did as recommended and started it initially with 2 tablets. I dropped it in the deep end and walked away. I live in sunny south Florida, and its been in the low 90's for the past 2 weeks. My pool is in direct sunlight from sunrise until about 6:30pm. After about a week and a half, the Sink-Float did exactly as advertised and floated to the top. I had about 1/2 tablet left on the bottom and 1/4 of a tablet left sitting on that one. My biweekly water tests have been checking out perfectly, and I haven't seen one lick of yellow or green in my pool. It's crystal clear. I put a new tablet in and threw it back in the deep end. I love not having to see a chlorinator floating. My chlorine levels still test in the 3-4 range. I take my water samples from about 3 feet down in the pool. Also, I rad a review that said that pool vacs caused the Sink-Float to open up and dump the tablets directly on the pool bottom. I have a Baracuda G3 that bumps the thing all over the place and so far, no problems. If it possibly becomes an issue in the future, I'll probably use a light weight zip tie to keep it together. I don't think that its going to be an issue though.Overall, great product, and AMERICAN made!!!

Adding up the savings...
I wanted very much to give this product a five star review. The concept is great and the product shipped quickly. My pool has sweeping jets on the bottom so I knew that I'd have no problem getting the chlorine to circulate, but therein lies my problem. While the dispenser gets pushed around by the jets, it sometimes comes apart leaving a naked chlorine tab (or two) on the floor of my pool. This direct contact stains the plaster. While it's functioning correctly though this does a great job of keeping enough chlorine in the pool to maintain sparkling clear water. And the unit, or its halves, dutifully float up when empty.I'm working out a way to better secure the halves using a nylon screw so this doesn't happen anymore, but I can't put a five star review on a product that requires modification of any sort to work correctly.UPDATE Fall 2014: The vendor reached out to me proactively to exchange my unit for another. Apparently, mine pops open more easily than it should. I've not tested the new unit yet, and won't until the spring, but I was very impressed by the vendor and I have every confidence that if I continue to have problems I'll get them resolved. Like I mentioned before, the unit works great other than the one, hopefully now resolved, issue.UPDATE Spring 2015: The replacement unit has proven itself solid and I've now purchased a second unit to help keep me going through the summer. With two tabs in each, they're keeping my chlorine at proper levels for about a month before they float up looking for more. My water temp is about 70 degrees at this point with my filter running 7 hours a day. I expect they'll run out faster as my water temperature rises in the summer, but I can confirm that these sink floats are working well and saving me money.

Works well
Just make sure you burp it. No air bubbles inside, and it will do what it says.

Love this!
This is a great way to distribute chlorine in the pool. I have bottom vents so it works well. I also like the fact that it stays down in the water and doesn’t collect leaves and insects like the floating ones do. Very easy to see when you need to put more chlorine in.
