Maui Babe - Tanning Salon Formula 8oz

I like this product. It gets 5 stars because it does exactly what I need it to. It is natural which is very important to me, and it protects my skin from burning or turning "leathery" while also helping me get a much richer and more even tan. I don't like the tanning lotions or oils with added chemicals in them. This is not a self-tanner, though you probably will want to wipe your hands off after using it before touching light clothes and whatever else (it leaves a hint of brown color on your palms because the lotion itself is brown, but this washes off and doesn't stain skin or clothes). The product has a sweet smell, and smells a bit like coffee due to the coffee plant extract. Personally, I like the smell although it can be a bit strong when you first put the lotion on. This product is a bit runny, but the main ingredients are oils (Sunflower Oil, Safflower Oil, Kukui Nut Oil, Aloe Vera, Kona Coffee Plant Extract, Ati Oxidants, Vitamins A, C AND E, Potassium Iodide) so that's a bit of a given. Like with any lotion or oil, if you leave it in your hot car it will be more runny. You don't need to use a lot to get good coverage and the 8 oz. bottle will last you a good bit. I am only able to tan 2-3 times a week at most and tan in a "level 1 bed" but I have had great results and love my color (not orange and doesn't look fake). I don't burn easily and am able to achieve a fairly dark tan on my own in the sun, but have lighter Eastern European skin and do get pale if I don't spend any time in the sun or the tanning bed. This is not a miracle product and will not instantly make you brown. Building a base tan takes some time and getting a dark tan takes time. It's worth it to do it right. Your color will eventually plateau based on your skin type no matter what product or level tanning bed you use. If you have very fair skin, speak to a professional who would be able to recommend the best product to use and the best tanning bed/time for you.It is probably good to note that for me this item did not have a "safety seal" on it when it arrived. However, most lotions, face washer, shampoos, conditioners, etc. do NOT have safety seals when you buy them in store or online. Mine had a piece of tape over the cap, probably to prevent it from opening and leaking everywhere during transport. If yours arrives this way don't automatically take it as a sign that it's been tampered with. Look at the lotion and its consistency, how much is in the bottle - if it seems overfilled or too empty, smell it before you put it on, and if something seems off then contact the seller. My bottle was intact when it arrived and there was bubble wrap in the box to prevent damage to the bottle. It was also in a sealed ziploc-type bag. I've put it back in that bag after use because I tend to leave greasy hand prints on the bottle after application.Overall, this is a great product that I will purchase again. This will moisturize your skin like crazy it smells good and you will get dark super quick! I was already tan when I got it but after using it in the tanning beds I use personally I noticed I was darker after the first use. But it will leave you feeling a little oily after you get out of the bed but I definitely recommend it

I love the outdoor formula, but this stuff...I don't know what's different, but this stuff is SO GREASY. I put it on, wait 15 minutes, dab myself with paper towels, putting clothes on is like putting clothes on while your skin is wet, I'm slipping in the tanning bed, putting clothes back on is the same awful experience as before, and I can't wait to get home and shower it all off.

Not PROUD to use a tanning bed, but I DO. That said, I always use a lotion and I have tried them ALL from the $100 ones sold by the salons (on sale, of course) to ones at the dollar store. NEVER use the Dollar store ones unless you WANT to look like a PUMPKIN! I had read all of the reviews on here and they were mixed, so I wasn't sure, but for the price, I figured it well worth a try and was pleasantly surprised!First, the aroma is MARVELOUS! Just like a sugar cookie and you can NEVER go wrong with THAT scent! This lotion has more oils than some and I find that to be a giant PLUS. After shaking the bottle, I did NOT find it all all runny. It came out in a good blob and spread like melted butter. Because it had a higher concentration of natural oils in it, you do not need very much to get a generous skin covering. THAT has been the BIGGEST disappointment with OTHER brands...you need to use gobs of globs to get them to spread EVENLY. Perhaps people that didn't like this one were using TOO much, being used to OTHER brands. A small dollop spreads nice and evenly and leaves your skin feeling surprisingly SOFT for the ENTIRE DAY!The color is a nice light brown, like coffee with a LOT of creamer. There is NO ORANGE to be found anywhere. There is also NO STAINING of your clothes, even down to white tennis socks. NO staining of skin and NO streaky weird marks like you were attacked by a giant pumpkin, either.MY package came post marked FROM HAWAII, and I had read a few comments as to the origin of the product.I think this stuff is a STEAL because it will last MUCH LONGER (probably at least three times as long)than the average lotion and is about one third the price.My skin tends to be extremely sensitive and I have been known to break out in a rash just THINKING about going outside during the high pollen season when someone is mowing their lawn. I do NOT wear make-up because 99% of it leaves me itchy and scratchy and red and bumpy, but I had zero problems tolerating this lotion. I actually use the tanning bed to get RID of some of my immune disorder acquired rashes...I THINK it came with money back guarantee, but don't quote me on THAT. I honestly couldn't be happier to have tried this ...

I was on the hunt for a new tanning lotion, just because I like to switch up from time to time. I found this one, the reviews wasn’t all that bad besides a lot of people complaining about the smell of it. The smell to me wasn’t horrendous like a lot of people make it out to be. But I can handle a little smell if the color pay off is good. I am a indoor tanner and I’ve used the tanning lotion 2-3 times, after that I stopped using it. It wasn’t the smell for me, it was way too GREASY. I felt as if I just used crisco all over my body. I’m the type who applies my lotion before I drive to the tanning bed, this stuff got everywhere! Not to mention, I didn’t notice any color with this lotion. But for the price, I figured I would try it out. But I don’t think I’ll repurchase this again.

It gives good color. It is very oily and reminds me of a baked good smell, which I’m not a fan of. If it could be offered in a lighter texture with a gentler smell, I would do it again.
