Kids Calming The Child Essential Oil Roll-On Blend 10 mL

My son (9) has ODD (Oppositional Defiance Disorder) and is in therapy and PSR for it. Still, he has this energy that can wear you down in no time and he's very fighty when he's in one of those moods. We've used it a few days now and it's starting to show great improvement! Today he had no issues at school and didn't bother his big sister (10 1/2) after school. They originally thought he had ADD/ADHD, but took that diagnosis away.. He's just a high energy kid with ODD, which can really wear down on the people around him. I love him, bit it's true. I use this down along his spine. Now my 2nd daughter (the 10 1/2 year old) is at that moody pre-teen stage where you just kind of want to lock yourself in your bedroom so you don't have to deal with what feels like drama over E.V.E.R.Ything! This helps her mellow out, and has been helping her to sleep at night. Though right now she's struggling with a cold, so she's just in general tired, the overall effect on her has been a toning down of her moody/grouch-ness! I also use this down alone her spine. I used this before a day in court recently (for an issue where I was the petitioner, but nervous as heck!) and it really helped keep me a fair bit calmer and more centered than I realized. I use some on the soles of my feet before bed and I'm not tossing at turning as much and find it easier to fall asleep at night, which is saying something considering I usually have a hard time falling asleep. I tried a little on the baby (6 1/2 months) the other night and she settled down better than usual, though I've only used it once I plan to try it again if she's ever fussy and just having a hard time settling. I put just a little bit on her spine in between her shoulder blades in hope that the scent would be calming as well as just the general effects. :)

I usually apply a little on the feet and wrists before sleep, and I’ve noticed my child settles down more easily and drifts off faster. She also wakes up more rested. My son has Sensory Processing Disorder and lavender oil does wonders for calming him down. I decided to try "calming the child" from my favorite essential oil company and it did not disappoint! The mixture of calming scents helps calm and center my child before he gets on the bus. His teacher knows it's in his bag, so he can go get it and put more on during the day. It's not a miracle worker, but his bus driver, teacher, father, and I all see a difference when he uses it. I'm happy with the results!

I'm not sold on how well it calms my kids, but I do like the smell. Trying more natural products and it's always a hit or miss. Good packaging and easy of applying though, and does smell nice.

I bought this oil on the recommendation of a few different friends to help my 5 yr old calm down before bedtime. She suffers from anxiety, hyperactivity, and has sleep issues. It usually takes at least an hour to settle her down enough to get her in bed then another hour before she falls asleep. I really hoped Calming the Child would help us, but it didn't help at all. We tried it for 3 nights, and each night she calmed down and went to sleep fairly easily, but she woke up with night terrors every night we used it. I also suffer from anxiety and panic attacks, so I decided to give the oil a try on myself. When I feel an attack coming on I rub a little oil on my wrists and sniff, and it does help me to calm down. I've been able to avoid a few full blown attacks and calmed down more easily using Calming the Child on myself. For that reason I'm giving it 3 stars as it does work for me, but my child definitely didn't do well.

Nice pleasant smell, kids love it.

I expected these to be boxed, but they weren't - just the bottle in the box. I ordered 2 different scents; both leaked (either the cap was loose or the roller ball leaked), bottles were so greasy we threw them both out. No oil in the box, maybe some was on the paper filler, didn't notice. These may work - smelled nice!, but we threw them out because attempts to clean the bottles were unsuccessful. Will not buy again.

Not sure if it actually works or if putting it on just helps my kids understand its calm down time.. I love it for myself as well. The smell bring happy peaceful feelings for me for sure.

I applied it on my little one’s for 2 nights and he was extremely irritable while 2 nights. Won’t recommend to anyone else
