The Complete French Grammar Course is surprisingly comprehensive, starting with the basics to build a solid foundation before getting into more advanced topics. This is a workbook with over 200 exercises that drive retention of the material. The entire book is presented in a series of outstanding videos on the author's YouTube channel, so you can actually see and hear the lessons from the book. Her presentation in the book and videos is clear and precise, and her charming personality and subtle witty commentary make learning French entertaining and FUN. It's very apparent Dylane puts an incredible amount of time and effort into her books and videos, which together provide the best French learning resources available.

The great book of French practice. This book is so important for learning grammar correctly. With hundreds of well thought of exercises I know from experience how helpful it is. It also has the answers in the back so you can check your leaning and correct your errors. I'm using it along with her other great book of conjugations. I'm all for practice. The fact that there are so many excellent written opportunities for practice is what makes the language come to life and for the grammar (which is the equivalent of language mathematics) to make sense. I absolutely recommend it. Her YouTube lessons are also a very valuable companion to the books.

I took French in school beginning in the 7th grade. That was in 1970 and poor Mme. Le Fessant had her hands full with a class full of 13 old boys who had their minds on many things other than learning a language! At least that was the case with me. I started learning French again last year using Duolingo. That's fine as far as it goes, but it's not easy to review what I've learned, and I need to understand the structure behind what I'm learning. For me, that means using a book that explains why something works and allows me to easily review what I've learned. Not knowing better, I bought the grammar course first because I was looking for that structure. Now I see from Dylane's self-study guide that I should learn pronunciation first, so I just bought that book too. Along with the conjugation course, I expect this to be a comprehensive approach to learning the language. I've only just started the grammar course, but already I see that it has the structure that I was looking for. When supplemented with the on-line video lessons and audio files, you get everything you need to master French. And Dylane is very charming and engaging. You want to listen to her, and she makes you want to learn. Maybe this old dog can learn a few new tricks after all.

This is really a very good book to work with for French grammar. It is helped significantly by the video lessons that one can easily access on YouTube and by the audio recordings that accompany almost all sections of this book. It is just crucial to have these recordings to constantly check one's work and, very importantly, to reinforce correct pronunciation. I'm not sure why there are complaints about difficulties in accessing these recordings. They are very easy to find, and Dylane gracefully responded to a question I had about them. My biggest reservation -- and it's significant -- has to do with vocabulary. There is no formal set of vocabulary words to learn in the various chapters. I know that the author has a separate vocabulary book, but this is supposed to be a book standing on its own. Several serious problems stem from this major oversight. First, one just cannot absorb a working vocabulary with any ease at all. Second, it is extremely difficult to learn the genders of nouns. Yes, there is an early chapter on gender, but it hardly addresses the ongoing problem of learning this important aspect of nouns throughout the book. I have to constantly use a dictionary to know both the meanings and the gender of the words used in exercise after exercise. This is extremely frustrating and is a major flaw in an otherwise excellently-organized book.

I've been "studying" French for close to a year now and this workbook is a blessing let me tell you. This book is written in a very straightforward manner, doesn't over complicate the rules and makes comparisons that are easy to understand, in English to the French rules. The exercises are not TOO complicated but are certainly not easy if you are a débutant, also the videos from the author are great to watch and work the book at the same time. I would say it is very close to "being in class" at home!

I have bought ALL French instruction books from author Dylane and I have not been disappointed. Instruction books are complemented with audio narratives and videos on YouTube. Dylane is the only French instructor, to the best of my knowledge, that has published and uses her OWN teachable books. French instruction is to the point, easy to understand and every section comes with many exercises to solidify and test your understanding. In addition, Dylane answers, promptly, ALL related questions and comments. I am proud to say that I have communicated with her on many occasions. She is pleasant, knowledgeable, witty, and yes, also pretty. I compliment her with all due respect because I am twice or more her age. She is very nice. I am a former school administrator and if you are looking for quality I highly recommend her as your French language instructor.

This is an excellent resource and an essential complement if you are using Duolingo (which provides nothing in the way of grammar explanations). I have many of Dylane's publications and they are all excellent.

I found this grammar book as super convenient the way it is compiled. Easy explanations of every topic followed by exercises to get even better result. Fully recommended.

I was looking for a french tutor and then I found this book which is AMAZINGLY written for a beginner. The author is so good @dylane, with her help I did not need to go for french classes or pay ALOT of money. As on her website she has explained each and every chapter of the book, it has good exercises.I had no confusion and issues learning.

What I love about this teaching product is that it addresses lots of different learning styles and abilities. By using the contents of the book...audio and video library, when before I would get stuck on a topic, I know use all of the teaching aids and I generally get it, the book is great for also quick referencing or reminding me of things I have generally forgot, as it. is very well set out and clear.....Top Marks
