Great series
This series started out great and somehow manages to get even better with each new book. A worthy addition to the library of any military science fiction fan.

Okay.
The continuing rise of a space marine, destined for great things going by the titles of the series. A form of autobiography of the author's career maybe. None the worse for that, it gives an interesting insight to military life, transposed to the distant future, though basically nothing changes, the general staff make the orders and the PBI (Poor Bloody Infantry) have to make it work or die.😠HeyHo bet the same said a thousand years ago, same as now "Sod this for a game of soldiers"!

More please
I enjoyed this book more than the first one in the series and that one was pretty good. This is a good blood and guts yarn in the best traditions of Robert Heinlen's Starship Troopers or or Rick Shelly's DMC series. However the author, retired US Marine colonel Jonathan P Brazee writes in the relaxed but very believable style of a man who has known combat and he tries to impart to the reader the physical and mental trauma that is involved. The Marine Corps that Brazee writes about is set in the distant future (not really sure when) but it is quite recognisable. He avoids the great trap of just transplanting the US Marine Corps into his story and actually creates a service that is a genuine mix of the worlds Marine Corps traditions. A big "well done" for that. One criticism, and it is so often made about Kindle books, is the number of typo's, spelling errors and just plain bad copy reading that occurs. Don't get me wrong it is not enough to spoil the story but it's one that should be so easy to rectify. Don't copy read your own work! All in all I enjoyed this book and look forward to number 3 which will no doubt cause me a few more very late nights being hard to put down.

Good Storyline
What a great storyline with plenty of blood and guts. I think I missed out for some reason not giving a review for Recruit which was naughty of me but that was a great start to a storyline.. My only prob was clicking on a link thinking it would tell me what the initials meant but no it took me to a website buygo or something scrappy but hey these things happen
