General Tools 1280-O Hollow Steel Punch, 5/8",Black

This punch is made similar to many other brands, but is slightly less costly. It works well on most of the leathers I work with. Very satisfied.

Arrived sharp and ready to go straight out of the box. I use it to make overshot and over powder cards for my 12 gauge shotshells. I really like how the cutouts stack inside the punch and how easy it is to get them out once I'm done making a bunch.

It took a few good wacks to get it through a rubber mat, but it made a clean hole.

I got this so that I can punch perfect holes in lids for deli cups that I have turned into drinking cups. It works great as long as you hit it with a hammer and make sure it’s on something solid. Otherwise, it won’t work. I like it and it is the perfect size for my boba tea/milkshake straws to go through.

The punch from my 20 year old set finally became too dull to work well. This is a good replacement and I am happy with the way it functions.

I initially submitted a negative review because I received an empty package. Someone had removed the item a placed the empty package into an Amazon envelope and delivered it to me. Clearly either mischief or theft which really triggered my nastiness. Amazon replaced the item the next day. It’s exactly what I wanted and is of the highest caliber. I highly recommend it. I didn’t want to put the supplier in a bad light but I wanted the clown highlighted and replaced with someone who appreciates having a job.

Dull and will not hold an edge. The first one arrived with a nick in the edge, I should have tested that one but I just sent it back for a replacement. Replacement arrive without a nick. After using it ten times on a folded (political flyer) cardstock over a pine block it would take 5-7 whacks with a mallet and it still wouldn't cut the last one clean. I did have a go at re-sharpening it with a Dremel and it did work better for a while. Still couldn't hold an edge very long. I do not think this metal has been tempered in anyway. I would try for another brand unless not going to use this too much.

This item is of much better quality than all those cheap ones from Asia. Made of forged steel, and so far very sturdy and stay sharp.

This is a high quality punch that works great and is easy to clean. Nuff said!
