ColumbiaMen's Rebel Roamer Rain Pant, Waterproof & Breathable

Reasonably-priced pants that don't sacrifice quality
I took these rain pants backpacking, and they kept me dry even through some pretty intense rain. It rained 9 out of 10 days on our trip, so I'm speaking from experience here. The pants are light, comfortable, somewhat breathable, and very durable. They did not feel cheap whatsoever, and are backed by Columbia's waterproof guarantee. They include both a waist cinch and boot straps to keep rain out from all sides. I used these from temps of 70 down to 35 and was comfortable all around. At lower temperatures, they act as a nice windbreaker and insulator, and I would even consider using these as snow pants in the winter. Final thoughts: I would recommend these 100% to anyone that needs to stay dry for any reason.

Quality product, but do NOT buy a size down!
I’m 6’3” and 215 lbs, and have a 36” waist, athletic build. I usually wear large in most everything. I should’ve with these pants as well, but after reading multiple reviews saying “buy a size down because they’re baggy,” I tried it. I shouldn’t have. These fit TRUE TO SIZE 100%. I bought a medium/32. The problem with this is even IF the legs are slimmer (if they are, I wouldn’t have known), the waist and crotch area are absolutely true to size! So if you are a large, BUY LARGE! The bagginess in the legs exists regardless of size. The price is appropriate for what they are, and the quality is there. The lack of pockets and the lazy, small Velcro strap at the bottom of the pant legs are the reason for it being 4 of 5 stars. These a WELL worth the price though, and even though they’re a little snug, I’m happy with them.

Deceptive Product Details-There are no Pockets
Just received today and the product has no pockets !!!. The description states that there are two front pockets and two back pockets. Buyer beware!!. Columbia is a good company but I don't appreciate the deceptive advertising. Hopefully the product is waterproof as they say. I will find out in a few days. It does fit that is the extent of my good comments. If I could rete it zero stars I would have.

Good but lacking a few things...
I bought these to go with a new Summit poncho/tarp because I like ponchos and wanted dry legs. ----On opening the package and looking over the pants....1- The first thing that I noticed was that the legs have neither zipper or Velcro to make putting them on over boots easier if you are caught in a sudden shower while on the trail.. A BIG minus in my opinion..2- Putting the pants on and walking around in the yard (on a sunny, 84 degree day) I noticed that they are comfortable and not terribly "loud".3- There is no way (as in a pass-thru slit) to get at your pants pockets with these pants on. A minor annoyance but I can live with it.4- The pants roll-up and pack into a package roughly 6" x 5" x 3" deep, weight 0.793 lbs. but there is no stuff sack or pocket to put the pants into..... I put an 1/8" piece of shock cord with a cord lock around mine then I carry them, with my poncho, in a utility pouch on the belt of my backpack for quick access.5- The draw string around the waist is nice in addition to the elastic but I would have liked to see some way to attach suspenders..6- The Velcro gathers on the bottom of the pants legs are nice but (to Me) are not placed correctly for a tight gather around my boots.--- These are my observations on the first day of owning these rain pants and for the price they are not bad but I did expect a little more.--- I will update this review at a later date if I find additional things to point out........( I bought these pants for FULL price and NOONE asked for myreview)

Well made product but runs larger and longer than expected.
Well made product but runs larger and longer than expected. As a 6 foot male, I figured that 32 waist size pant would fit, but it feels like it is a more of a 34, and the pant length is longer than expected. If you wear these pants over another pair of pants it is fine. The main reason I purchased these pants was so that I can be dry at football games I attend, I already owned a Columbia rain jacket that fits very well and has been good to me in moderate to heavy rain storms. I hope this pair of pants will also be good, even though they seem to be very large.

Comfortable, worked OK in rain, at first.
They fit nicely and don't make a lot of noise when I walk. I like them for what they are.I first wore them over my jeans on a 4-hour hike in a driving rain in Iceland (early June 2021). My jeans were dry when it was over although my upper body was soaked.I then wore them over my jeans on a 1-hour boat trip in the driving rain in Iceland two days later, and my jeans were damp but not wet. I don't know why the difference, I just note it.I recommend them for protection against a drizzle or modest rain or even a heavy rain that isn't "driving" as by a horizontal wind. They are comfortable and I think a good value for the price.

Work as Advertised
Bought these for a trip to Iceland. They do exactly like they say and keep your legs dry. I used them many times and never had any issues. The material is light enough that you can easily pack it in a bag for quick use. There are only two cons to these pants that I can find so far 1) they are baggy and 2) do not breathe very well. However, you can’t really be mad at either of these. The pants are baggy to easily slip over other pants and boots, and for this price it’s hard to find waterproof pants that are breathable. So if either of these things are dealbreakers, then I would continue looking for a more expensive pair.

No Pockets! Disappointed for $50 pants
Right from the description >>>HANDY FEATURES: These pants feature two side zippered security pockets and two back pockets to secure your small items. THEY DO NOT HAVE POCKETS! Very disappointed because of that and that I paid $50 for something with no pockets. The main reason I ordered the pants was because of the brand and the fact that they listed the inseam and they would have them to me before the weekend when I needed them. I am a 34 inseam and I didn't want to chance ordering something that did not list the inseam. I paid the $50 because they had pockets which was a nice feature for a wet weather pant that you can slip over your shorts or pants. I would return them or exchange if I had more time. There should be a credit for misrepresenting a product.

Keeps you dry
These is a very no-frills pants and they don't even have any pockets (the product description is wrong). However, I had a chance to test them during a 4 hour hike in constant rain, and they do keep you absolutely dry, and they were more comfortable than I expected. After a little while I forgot I was even wearing them. Especially at its discounted price (I bought for ~$45), very highly recommended.

large
These are basic rain pants that fit easily over jeans. I am 5'11", 190 lbs, 36" waist. Large/30 inseam fit me well. As others have pointed out, the Velcro strap to cinch the ankle closed is almost useless because it is positioned incorrectly.

Rain pants that work
Bought these for my son, he uses them for snow plowing the driveway - keeps his pants dry and are warm. Also good for walking to the mail box on rainy does. Great purchase.
