The fabric is undyed cotton canvas material. The pillow is breathable with the cotton and buckwheat. It’s also LARGE which I love. I am using it for an unconventional use. I use buckwheat pillows in some controlled places on my bed. It allows me the perks of firm bedding without the drawbacks of pressure points. This one goes under my torso where it conforms to my body like a glove. It supports the space between my waist and the bed as well as allowing me to sleep in a passive stretch of my hip muscles. Like I said “unconventional usage”. That said, I have SI and joint problems, buckwheat has changed my sitting and sleeping so much. It forms a solid base under you that evenly distributes weight. This pillow is large and allows me to sit in my bed comfortably without sinking in. I am chronically ill and I spend a lot of time in bed. This is by far the nicest buckwheat pillow I own. I’d like to get another so that I’m sleeping on a makeshift buckwheat mattress. But for now this works great. Really well made and sturdy feeling. Also CLEAN. No buckwheat dust, no buckwheat anywhere on the outside of the pillow or in the package. Definitely one of my better discoveries for sleeping with chronic illness that often makes everything uncomfortable or painful.

I bought this specifically because it was well-priced, had an inner bag with the buckwheat hulls in it that is separate from the outer cover, and is made of natural materials in a color I wanted. The inner/outer cover is a big deal for me because with pets you just know it's going to get used when you are not looking... Sure enough in under a week my cat adopted it as a new bed when I'm not using it so it already needs a run through the wash. I am not scared to drop it in the wash either as the stitches and material look solid. It came perfectly comfy. It has just the right amount of fill to squish around a little and not be a brick or sink to the floor either. I loved beanbags as a kid, and I can't stand uncomfortable things to sit/lay on... this is veeeery comfy-- and coming from someone who is a long-legged 5'6" and 150 lbs so basically as average as you can get. I would definitely buy a second one if I ever had a reason to do so.

Soft n easy to mold whatever position your in.

If you have ever meditated,,,,this will not work, to small to use with a zafu. too shapeless to use as a mat. What is this?? What do I do with it?? I've used many zafu/zabuton sets. I've meditated for years....what is this?? nope.
