Starting Small Frog Novelty Hamper - Green

We ordered this hamper twice: once where we got the WRONG one, and once where we got the RIGHT one. (Please see my customer photo, above.) The WRONG/"MYSTERY" frog hamper was ordered through our Amazon baby registry by friends and fulfilled by an outside party (for a lower price but +shipping). I almost didn't notice the difference--even though I didn't like it as much as I'd thought I would--but my husband started laughing at the obvious mismatch. It got more hilarious when we compared it to this listing directly. (I want to call the first hamper a bad knockoff, but at the very least, it's clearly a DIFFERENT frog hamper.)I came back here to read reviews (how could we be the only ones to get the wrong one??), and a lot of these reviews describe the WRONG hamper--yet no one seems to have realized the mistake! All of the reviews that say the frog came in a darker, "Christmas" green or has a DIFFERENT FACE, you got the "mystery" product, too!(We also registered for the Starting Small PUPPY Novelty Hamper--where we got the RIGHT one--so we had an idea of what the CORRECT packaging would look like. This boosted our certainty.)I contacted Amazon, but because this was ordered through our registry by friends, we're not able to return or exchange the order ourselves. At best we have to give it back to our friends and ask THEM to send it back. In the meantime, I saw the same hamper was also available directly from Amazon (for a slightly higher price, but eligible for free shipping, under "more buying choices") and, knowing I COULD send the second one back if it came wrong again, went ahead and ordered. THIS TIME WE GOT THE RIGHT ONE.This makes us laugh even harder at the mystery frog.I haven't started using this yet so can't review performance. I was originally going to rate this 1 star, when I only had the wrong product in hand. However, you CAN get the correct item through Amazon if you are careful, so that wouldn't be fair to the hamper (which is still cute!). So I'm adding a star for the overall ordering experience--again, not for performance.Please see my customer photo above, comparing the two. I live in a larger two-storey house, and with the birth of our first baby, I quickly got tired of running upstairs (where both laundry and nursery are located) to bring up every pice of soiled clothing or spit-up rag throughout the day. We converted a small room on the main floor for baby usage, and have a changing table, etc., located there (more convenient). I wanted a hamper to use so I wasn't constantly running upstairs, or worse- leaving a pile of dirty clothing etc. on the stairs waiting to go up to the laundry. I found this, was very happy with the price, and was surprised how quickly it arrived. It is super light-weight, so I can scoop up any baby items on the main floor and bring them upstairs when I clean up for the night, and then toss it over our balcony back to the main floor. It washes well in my opinion - I throw it in the load once a week - and it air dries well. I plan to use it for extra toy storage once we move past the soil-everything-you-wear stage, but our baby is still on 4 1/2 months old, and so between spit up, drool, and parental lack-of-skill with diaper changes this is quite useful as a hamper for us for now.

It's a bit larger than I thought it would be and it looks a little awkward on the countertop. The first one I received had pieces missing, but it was resolved immediately by the seller. There are 4 tubular stays that hold up the hamper, and these have a tendency to fall out because of the design of the pockets. You wouldn't want your toddler to walk around with one of these stays in hand. Our 1-year-old doesn't quite understand that he's looking at a frog because the design is a bit abstract. I'm keeping it because it's adequate, but I wish I had ordered something different.

It's a little smaller than I expected and I wouldn't fill it up with heavy toys then try to carry it around, but over all it's no worse or better than any similar type hamper/toy box, and I've owned 4 in the last 9 years from all different brands. My 9 and 7 year old boys have destroyed them all, along with 3 heavy plastic hampers and one expensive wicker one. This one I purchased for my 5 month old son's toys, and it is by far the cutest one I've had.I guess what I'm saying is, it's not going to last forever, and it won't hold a bunch (barely holds one load of laundry packed tight) but it's way cute, and the price is right.

This hamper is super cute. The color is true to the photo and the size is larger than what I pictured, so it will hold a lot of whatever you use it for. It seems sturdy enough. The only comment I have, which is not a negative because it is just a what-if, is that the bottom is slightly rounded and it is really lightweight, so without anything in it there is a chance that with regular traffic around it may move or tip. We are using it in our Nursery and our son is not here yet, so we will see, but I think once clothes and stuff are in it will be fine. Overall, definitely would buy again.

This hamper is really cute and the perfect size for about 2 loads of laundry. I'm sure it would also be useful to have as toy storage as well. I actually own both the puppy hamper as well as the frog. The puppy hamper is so cute and holds up pretty awesome with a 4 child house hold (all being under 5). The only down side to the frog's design is that one of his eyes never stays up and is always flapping down, so you never get to see the full face. It should have been sewn differently to better hold up the fabric the eye is printed on, other than that I'm happy with this product and would recommend to anyone!

I ordered this hamper for my 2 baby girls. It was very cute while it lasted. My walker pulled one way, and my crawler pulled the other way, and they pulled the froggy face right off. The support sticks poked holes through the sides shortly after the face-off fiasco. It lasted maybe 3 months.I think it would be great for older kids, maybe 3-4 +? I think if we still had it now that my girls are a little older it would be alright, but it didn't work out when they were little.
