I was looking for some lights to not only use at Christmas but to keep up all year for just hanging out on the patio. These Govee lights fit the bill to a T. I had bought one other Govee product at that point (PC lighting) and loved it so I thought I'd give the brand another shot. These lights (got two strands so 96 feet) work perfectly! They seem to be well made and the ability to connect them to their app makes them so easy to control too! I love these! Pros: Seem to be very well made. Connects easily to the app. Totally controllable from the app. You can pick different light setups that are on the app (which I did for Christmas as they had like 5 different themes you could do premade) or you can totally make your own rules. You can control every individual light and have it be whatever color you want. It's a little bit of a pain to do but I messed around with it and had some cool patterns going. My favorite part is I have the lights set up on a timer. Every day at 4pm the lights come on and they turn back off at 11:30pm. I never do a thing unless I want to change something. You can even open the app and turn them on like at noon (dark rainy day) and they'll turn on and then it goes into the scheduling and turns off at the 11:30 mark. Very cool! Great light set! Cons: Just two things I can think of... 1) You can only turn them on or off unless you use the app ( and only white steady on) so if you hate having to use apps I'd leave these alone. 2) The controller that is between the end of the light strand and then the power cord doesn't appear to be waterproof. I wouldn't trust that it is anyway. Kinda weird when they are outdoor lights. I bought a waterproof box to keep it watertight. You can barely see the box in the bottom right of my picture.

I initially wrote a bad review because the lights stopped working after a year- they wouldn’t turn on or connect. But govees customer service got back to me and helped me troubleshoot and my lights are working now! I love them. I have several Govee Products and this was the only time I had an issue. I’m happy it was resolved.

These Govee string lights are seriously awesome. I got the 96ft version (two 48ft ropes), and they’ve completely leveled up my backyard setup. The colors are super bright and fun, and I love that you can also switch to a warm white for a chill vibe. The app is easy to use, and the lights work great with Alexa. I’ve set up different scenes for parties, dinners, and even just relaxing at night. It’s also cool being able to control everything from my phone without having to go outside. They’ve held up great through some bad weather too—no issues at all with rain or wind. Everything feels solid and well-made. If you're looking to add some smart, colorful lighting to your patio or backyard, I totally recommend these. Great quality, easy to set up, and they just look amazing!

I replaced a set of warm white LED cafe string lights with these Govee lights. The concept is cool and I'm a big fan of their lights so I thought I knew what to expect. The first thing I noticed was that the lights felt rather, well, light. The old cafe lights I replaced had some heft to each bulb since they were encased in a heavy acrylic. These Govee bulbs are plastic on construction and the cord they are attached with are thin and felt likely to break. I had to buy some 1/8" steel braided cable to hang the Govee lights. Which brings me to the next issue: each bulb includes a clip on the side of the bulb base. This makes it so that the bulbs do not hang straight down but tilt to one side. In some cases the bulbs actually hang upside down due to their light weight and the twist of the cord they're on. The plug and controller unit are also not waterproof whatsoever, which required me to buy a separate housing box to keep it all safe and dry. Luckily the housing doesn't prevent the Bluetooth connection required to get the lights up and running within Govee's amazing app. If you've used any other Govee lights you know that the app is top tier, allowing easy control and integration with their other lights. A lot of other brands provide hardware that is comparable in quality to Govee, but it's the software that gives them the edge and it shows. From the unboxing with the nice packaging through the setup and install process, you can't ask for anything easier. Despite the complaints I've listed, the lights are ultimately very nice and work flawlessly. I've had them up around my pool since February and they've lasted through multiple days of downpours just fine.

Pros / tips: - Nice color and even lights -Lights are individually addressable - Much prettier and 'normal' looking than trying to hang christmas 'bullet' leds - WS2812B protocol: string is made up of 30 bulbs, each bulb has 2 addressable lights: an RGB pair and a warm white pair, every other light is white for a total of 60 'logical' lights on the chain - WLED or any other neopixel driver works fine, in WLED create 2 segments with 60 each, then set the 'skip' parameter to 1 on both. One segment will be just the white lights and the other will be the RGB (BGR) lights. Challenges: - controller has proprietary firmware and uses an ARM chip (RTL8710BX) - the firmware has very basic local control (on/off and each primary color for all lights) and requires foreign cloud server access to use their ‘app’; their app (not tuya) requires location access to use -I used an other WLED controller (ESP based) w/o any drama; the chain runs off 12V rails with a 5V data signal (like any other ws2812 string); the included power supply (2A@12V) seems fine -the bulbs are spaced pretty far apart (2-3ft), so pretty dim compared to a string of christmas style 2812 LED bullets (which are usually 4” or 6” spacing). - the wire between the bulbs is too thin to hang the bulbs, they must be mounted on a supporting guide wire to hang across a span of space - the wire is too thin for the bulbs at the end to run full brightness, if you turn on the RGB’s and the WW full in each bulb the color changes along the length of the string as the voltage drop gets worse and worse - the clips on the bulbs are very stiff and brittle: its hard to get them onto a guide wire w/o breaking them as you pry them open a little - when mounted on a guide wire the bulbs hang sideways because they are very light compared to the wire - the mounting clips have a sharp edge tht digs into the guide wire when you try to slide the bulbs, it is very time consuming to mount a chain of these to a guide wire as you move each bulb (one by one) a couple of feet, then repeat over and over

These were super easy to install. Plug them in and go. The app downloaded quickly and I was able to jump right in and connect it to my lights. I am running 3 cases of these lights right now in my Arcade. I can do a basic link in the app where I can apply a design across all of them. The linked feature doesn't give you the ability to do the moving lights across all the strands with one button push, but I can set each individually without any trouble. There are so many features for the lights, each bulb can be controlled individually, you can match colors with your surroundings, change brightness, and more. Tons of features packed into a small product. My partner doesn't generally like products like this that use apps to run, but this is a winner and I will be getting more. We haven't used these outdoors so I can't attest to whether or not they hold up in a wet environment

So far (I got them about a week ago), they are exactly what we were looking for. They were easy to put up, and they are fun and easy to use. I love that they can be customized with colors, and you can choose if they flash, and how quickly. There is so much customization available, and you can also sync it up with your music, which seems like it should be complicated, but this does it in seconds. It was so easy! They do need a special connector if you are putting more strings together, but they do have a regular outlet end to plug into your source. The bulbs seem to be good quality and should hold up to the elements well. They are not glass bulbs, and they are larger than I expected, which is fun as they give off more light and look less like Christmas lights, which is what I was using before.

Look nowhere else. These are THE best outdoor lights. I've bought three 96ft sets. The cords and bulbs are both sturdy. It's easy to set up. The free phone app to control them is also easy to use and comes with dozens of preset lighting modes. You can set each bulb's color individually, you can get the app to generate different lighting modes with color and movement, or you can go in depth and create whatever lighting mode and movement pattern you want. Once you create a DIY lighting mode, it is available in the diy library for all your strings. (Each 96ft set of strings is controlled separately so you can do different things or the same thing on different sets, up to you.) You can control everything: speed, brightness, time to automatically turn on and off, etc. Honestly it's just a lot of fun. And so much higher quality than most outdoor string lights, honestly the best I've ever tried. Definitely worth a little extra money to get lights that are reliable AND fun.

This product is super cool. It’s nice and long, almost 100 feet (30 bulbs spread over 96ft I think it was…), and the styling is nice the way the lights hang off the main cord. One of my favorite features is the fact that they are plastic bulb covers, so you don’t have to worry about hitting them together or dropping them and glass breaking, or the bulbs burning out since they are LED and last forever. The app to control them was very easy to install and connect to the lights, and it lets you control the color of each one of the 30 bulbs individually, which is the coolest feature. There are also a whole bunch of premade color/movement patterns built in. They have made themed ones for almost any occasion (Christmas, Halloween, Birthday), as well as ones to mimic places like carnivals or nighttime skylines, and things you find in nature like galaxies, sunsets, fireflies, or ocean waves. They’ve even got ones to match your mood. They are all really fun and there are too many options to list. Highly recommend and will likely purchase more for other areas. Would work great as Christmas lights wrapped around an evergreen. These will go around the deck come summer time. Got them because Costco had a set that was half the length for $60 on sale, but they had nowhere near the amount of features that this string does. I wanted to see comparables on Amazon and saw these on sale for just under $100 as the deal of the day, so pulled the trigger, and I’m SO glad I did. They are so fun, easy to use, well made, and stylish. 10/10.

Great lighting features but had some issues with shipment I initially loved the Govee Smart Outdoor String Lights. They offer vibrant colors and tons of lighting options, from carnival scenes to custom modes you can create with AI or find online—all easily controlled through the app. They're perfect for mood lighting, not for bright illumination, but they add such a unique ambiance. Unfortunately, my first shipment might have been damaged as the box looked like it had been dropped, and the lights stopped working after a few weeks. Despite that, I love the product so much, I’ll be trying them again because the value is great for what you get.

LOVE my patio lights! I've had them for over a year and they are still going strong. They re easy to use, you can program them individually or choose from a bunch of presets. They have held up in Newfoundland weather !! A wonderful mothers day gift that I would recommend to anyone.
