## Questions & Answers

**Q: Does this require more than one coat? I am spraying an oil painting**
A: I would recommend multiple light coats after the paint has fully dried. I often do 3 -4 coats for best protection.

**Q: I've sprayed 1 coat of this over an ink stamp done on a painted surface. Will the ink be properly sealed now? Thanks in advance for your answers!**
A: My suggestion would be, let that dry, & then turn in a different direction, then spray again. Don’t get to close or it will take a long time to dry, & might stay sticky for a long time. It’s better to do more than one spray lightly than one heavy spray. I hope this helps you.

**Q: I'm looking for a Oil based sealer to be used over liquid gold leaf to prevent tarnishing. Would this product be suitable for this purpose,?**
A: interesting. I think you'd have to do a little experimenting. Or call an art store with working artists as staff. you've given me something to think about. 😊

**Q: What is it made of?**
A: It is a water-based synthetic I believe to be acrylic. It does clean up nicely with soap (brush soap or Dawn detergent) and warm water.

## Customer Reviews

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great quality but my god do not apply it indoors
*by on Reviewed in Canada 7 June 2025*

I probably sound like a newbie saying it (because I am so this was a lesson for me) but this severely REEKS worse than the crystal varnish I've been using for years. I used to get away with applying varnish in a well ventilated indoor area with an air purifier but this is NOT like that. Absolutely only to be used outdoors or in a garage with the door open.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works Beautifully
*by on Reviewed in the United States 17 September 2021*

Quality product, dries fast (especially with hair dryer), great matte finish. Just be sure you stir it well to mix up any settling at the bottom or it may dry sticky. If it does, simply mix better and re-apply. Do not apply on a rainy day or may trap moisture and fog. Been using this product for decades and love it! Highly recommend - not just for oils and watercolor paintings but also miniature figurines. Knocks the shine of spray sealers right down!

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Best Desperate Buy
*by on Reviewed in the United States 8 June 2019*

Immediately opened this and finished a panel I had sitting, waiting. I do believe this works better (and drives faster) than any I have used, before. Was purchased only because I had to have it and wasn't going to have a day off for quite a while, so there wasnt going to be any trip to the art supply store in the next county any time soon. Glad I bought it. It will be replaced with the same brand in larger quantity soon.
