I live on my sailboat and so my holding tank and sanitary plumbing sees more use that a boat that is only sailed on weekends. Over time I have had issues with sludge build up . Phosphoric acid helps with crystalline deposits but this stuff addresses the organic sludge the builds up over time.When I saw how effective it was with the black water waste system I also tried using a little bit of it in sink drains and was very impressed with how much foaming and hose cleaning that took place. There was a lot more gunk in the gray water drains than I realized.Every two weeks the pump out service empties my holding tank. After that happens I put one scoup of this stuff in the toilet at night and pump just enough water through to move it into the pump and hoses to keep things clean.
