Delicious hot or cold
Tastes great! Creamy and not too sweet. Great with rhubarb!. I’d recommend the 4 pack, you will want more on hand, one is not enough!!

WHAT THE HECK IS THIS STUFF? IT SURE ISN’T A CUSTARD AMERICANS KNOW
I don’t know how this product is used in Britain, but I expected something entirely different. I expected a thick custard, because it says custard on the label. In USA homemade custard is cooked on the stove, and becomes the base for popular cream pies, like coconut meringue, banana cream, lemon meringue. This so-called ambrosia out if the can wasn’t as thick as sweetened condensed milk! And it would not reduce over flame, even with addition of sugar. Additionally, the distributor is very careless in packing for shipment. Dented cans are a common complaint in many other reviews. Again, maybe my disappointment is owed to not understanding the product. The product description should have been clearer.

I bought this because I'd never tried it. It's fairly expensive (in the USA), but it was definitely worth buying once. I'd probably try to find it locally if I want it again. I combined it with leftover rice to make some quick rice pudding. Also tried it over ice cream. Over cake. It's quite simple and not too sweet. Not as knock-your-socks-off tasty as freshly made, but perfectly serviceable.

This custard pudding has been a favorite of mine since I was a child in Scotland. It is creamy and can be used as a pudding or pie filling.

Just like my hubby remembers...
My husband is English and of course misses a lot of grocery items from home. It's been great lately that Amazon has started to offer so many of these beloved foods. Bought both the Ambrosia Custard and their Rice Pudding. The Custard is the original Ambrosia custard from the UK and very tasty. If you aren't familiar with it, you may not like it as it has a slightly artificial taste, but if you are English or from the Commonwealth and know the product, I can assure you it's the original.
