Best I have found so far
So I have a 30 year old Jeep that's in good shape but if you keep one that long you will replace these latches a few times. This set is probably the best ones I used so far. The pair that have been issues for the last 10 years or so had lost all their paint and turned rust colored. Also, they never really locked down tightly. It took no effort to release them as the springs inside just weren't tight at all. This set feels and looks better with a heavy, shinny black paint job and a very stout spring. Very please with these!

Black Hood Catch Kit for 1942-1995 Jeep, Wrangler YJ
It's a good catch & worth the money also looks good & is a direct fit. It can be an easy installation if it's replaced in time & not rusted solid, then you may have to drill out the head or use an small cut-off grinder to cut away the head.. I used this cut-off method, it was easier, faster & a painless way to change out the Wrangler hood catch.

Purchased for my 95 Jeep YJ. This item was a perfect fit, all pre-drilled holes lined up perfect. Although they are not the heavy metal material as the original, (but what is now days), they were an excellent replacement for the YJ. Easy installation, good quality for the price.

the part is a lot better than I thought it would be I had to replace my hood latches on my early pattern CJ5 because the originals bend and this came out a lot better than I thought the springs are fresh and strong hope they last a long time like the originals if I had to say one thing bad about it is the edges of the handles are shorter than originals but other than that it's going good so far
