Took a risk ordering cold nematodes in the very heat of the summer, but infestation happens at the worst times. These nematodes shipped the following business day, it appears the seller even dropped them off to the shipper at night so they could get moving en route without sitting in the shipping facility during the warm day. The package was handed to me by the UPS driver and the cold packs still had a chill to them upon arrival. Price includes 2nd day shipping!! I recommend ordering on Saturday or Sunday so they can be shipped Monday to arrive on Wednesday. I was delighted to see the nematodes can last several weeks in the fridge. I don't have a microscope to peep them, but there is unquestionably a HUGE reduction in aerial gnats the very next morning! The gnats are clearly stressed about cycling because they had a drastic change in attitude and are bunkering down instead of flying in our faces. I am beyond excited to have found an affordable and accessible source of organic-friendly IPM. This stuff is not cheap but it IS effective in controlling fungus flies in my houseplants. I had purchased this twice before from another site. The first time the order came properly packaged to keep the bag cool and the nematodes alive. They worked well. The second time I ordered them they did not come properly packaged and they didn't work. I'm sure they were probably dead when I got them. This time I went to BioLogic's website to read up on nematodes and discovered how delicate they are. When I discovered that BioLogic sells right here on Amazon I decided to try them again. This time the nematodes came directly from BioLogic packaged perfectly. The bag I received of 10 million nematodes was enough to treat all my houseplants (about 50 6" pots) 3 times. I had a really bad infestation so it did take more than 1 application to get rid of all of them. The last application was to use up the last of the powder and to give a little extra protection. They say that dry soil is the leading cause of nematodes dying so I try to keep the top of the soil moist without over watering my plants. It's been about 3 months now and I still don't see any signs of fungus flies. I had been also using that yellow sticky paper to trap the little buggers but was finally able to throw them all away. The sticky paper does work to trap them but I hate it when I reach over my plants to pick off dead flowers or water and the darn stuff sticks to my sleeves. The sticky paper doesn't get rid of the infestation. It just seems to keep the flies from getting too out of control. The nematodes actually gets rid of the flies completely. It seems it works best for me if I apply the nematodes several times a year. They do get reintroduced from time to time for outside sources. I've even opened a bag of name brand planting soil and had a few flies fly out. Of course they come in the house in the summer time too through windows and open doors so it's to be expected fungus flies will be an ongoing issue. BioLogic nematodes seems to be the best product for me to keep me and my plants happy and healthy year round.

The nematodes ate all of the gnats. It was worth every cent.

I love biological pest controls so i was ready to be sold on this. I need it for houseplants--about 25 or them--and neem oil spray only knocks down the flying fungus gnats you happen to hit. I am impressed with the cold-shipping method they used for this and the organisms were well chilled when they arrived. I handled with care per instructions. As for application, the instructions re how and just how much to apply to potted indoor plants seem a little unclear or incomplete. I mixed roughly 3 teaspoons in a gallon of water and applied. For 10 days no improvement in airborne gnats. Next time i quadrupled the amount of powder and reapplied. Now 5 days later the gnats seem to be set back, but i still see 1 or 2 float by. Thus the pretty good rating, with qualifications.

I was very close to giving up on my fungus gnat infestation when I came across this product. It is a bit pricey, especially with shipping, so I hesitated at first—but I’m so glad I decided to try it. The nematodes arrived very well packaged with a cold pack. I unpacked them right away and stored them in the refrigerator so I could apply them that evening. One package ended up being much more than I needed for a single application, but I kept the remainder sealed in the fridge and was able to get two additional applications out of it before the expiration date. Best of all, I now have no fungus gnats at all. I also love that this is a natural solution, so I’m not spraying chemicals in my house anymore—and I don’t have ugly yellow sticky traps in all of my plants. This product was absolutely worth the cost, and I would definitely purchase again if needed.

I bought it last year and it worked amazing, so I ordered it for this year. I ordered two packs and they did not work at all. I came out to find most of my pepper plants eaten down at ground level. I dug around and found grubs and cut worms, and saw fruit flies around, this was several weeks after application; I know it takes tame to work, but it did not. I used it right away and as directed. I ordered one more to see if maybe I got a bad batch the last time and used it on one of the beds and this one is working. It's expensive, but when it works it works great. I am not sure it's worth taking the chance every year if you don't know what your getting at this price. I may try another company.

I had fleas. I had fleas bad. I used several different flea meds on my dog and cats, plus household sprays and vacuuming, and the @#$ers just laughed at me. And every time I went to the vet it was the “walk-of-shame” as they explained again how to get rid of fleas, all of which I’d done and which failed. I have read reviews that say this won’t do it for fleas. But I am now flea-free. Vet visits have confirmed. Now, here are the things that may have effected this result. The property was empty for a year and a half. However, though I was gone, it was not animal free. There are lots of flea-carrying-critters in my area, deer that sleep in my yard, raccoons and feral cats that were getting inside the house because of the dog door. Yes, that... Well. Not a good thing. Also, this is a very rainy area, so the nematodes I “planted” would have stayed well-hydrated. Also, thanks to the rain, the yard was very overgrown. The sheltering plant-life over the nematodes in the ground may have helped. I’ve been here three months. Not a flea to be seen.

Purchased these for a fungus gnat infestation in several of my houseplants and potted veggies. I also purchased these for a problem with leaf miners on my tomato and pepper plant. I saw a significant lessening of both issues within days of the first application. It's been almost 4 weeks and aside from a reasonable amount of fungus gnats, problem solved. And I still have more than enough nematodes left for at least two more applications. Arrived on time, no issues.
