Good while it worked
Loved it for a few days in Dec 2016. It was a little "jerky" as it rotated. It soon started making "clicking" sounds and eventually stopped spinning. I hope they can fix the problems and reboot the product. I would try again if they advertised "New and Improved!" and really meant it. We didn't even get a chance to show it off to anyone before it broke. Seller was great (full refund).

Modern update to a regular tree stand
This stand solved the problem we had last year with our heirloom tree. The stand finally broke and the tree which holds about 50 years of memories was in peril. Because the stempost on the tree is solid wood and a diameter of 1.5 inches I was having trouble finding a stand. When I saw this one I figured I could work with it and be able to bring the tree into the modern age by getting it to spin. I purchased 3 -2x2 blocks of wood to stabilize the tree and it works just fine. Everyones ornament is seen and the lights twinkle beautifully. I know it's meant for a fresh tree but being that it's electric I don't know about mixing water with it. The stand does have it's well separate from the mechanisim so it should be safe as long as liquid is not overfilled. Thanks for keeping a family tradition going and updating a family heirloom.

The engineering behind this one is good. I like how there are holes for water ...
The degree of difficulty to make one of these that works well is high. The engineering behind this one is good. I like how there are holes for water to drain in case you overfill it (you may be upset your tree skirt gets wet, but that's better than being electrocuted). The motor seemed to struggle to move the tree, but it did move it. I did not run the motor the whole time due to another reason, though. I realized very quickly that my previous tree stands were very stable thanks to 1) a tree that didn't movie and 2) some having the ability to adjust angles of the tree. The problem with roating a real Christmas tree is that you're unlikely to place it perfectly straight and it's probably not 100% symmetrical. The result was that my rotating tree didn't simple turn on an axis at an upright angle, but instead create a small orbit around it's center of gravity. The shifting weight made me uneasy about keeping the product turned on for any real length of time, not because the stand was unsteady but because the tree was only held so firmly in the base. The base is very good for symmetrical trunks and has a slightly curved end to hug the tree trunk, but against small knots or other blemishes in the trunk it won't give much added stability. This product is about as good as it gets, but the idea of rotating a real tree is a bit of a pipe dream.

Worked for a while, then started clicking
Fit my tree well, let the stand run without the tree for a day to make sure it worked ok. Put the 70lb tree in and secured it. about 60 minutes after having the tree in the stand, a loud click would sound every 20-30 seconds. I took the tree out and the sound was still there, just not as loud. I made arrangements to ship it back, but it would had cost $30 to ship it back and another $30 for the replacement. So I agreed with the seller to get refunded all but $30 and keep the stand. I may use it for a yard tree stand or attempt to take it apart and fix it. It is a sturdy stand, but the rotating mechanism isn't the bestUPDATE Dec 2019: The company is now known as Elf Logic and selling the same stand, even use the images on their website from the images here in 2014. Looks the same.

Works great for those extra large artificial trees that have fat poles
We used this stand on our Balsam Hill 9 foot tree. The center pole was 2.5 inches and it was to large for most rotating stands for artificial trees.. No water required :) This one worked perfectly and rotated our tree at a slow (and quiet) speed. We were finally able to see all sides of our gorgeous white tree. We display our tree in a huge bay window and when watching it at night from the street below our house....the movement made the lights on the tree just twinkle so pretty. Great stand...Great price...We couldn't be happier!

Be sure to measure the trunk of your tree
Excited about having a rotating live christmas tree for the first time. The directions does say how big of trunk it can hold but doesn't say the smallest trunk it will hold. Not knowing that we bought our tree and didn't measure the trunk. After getting it home, we found the trunk was too small so we had to had cardboard at each tension point. Once up it looks awesome and using the remote to rotate and light up make things easy

too bad they don't sell something for smaller bases
I bought this for an artificial tree that was too big for the standard rotating stand. Unfortunately, this is not adjustable to a smaller base. I tried but the tree fell over. We are trying to jury rig something for next year.....too bad they don't sell something for smaller bases.
