Hoover CleanSlate Plus Portable Carpet + Upholstery Spot Cleaner Machine

I have had three different Bissell carpet cleaners over the last 30 years. My latest was their Little Green Machine.....bad experience since day one. It leaked constantly and I later read they all do and Bissell keeps on selling them like that. Fast foward to my recent purchase of this Hoover Clean Slate Plus. It can all be summed up in one comment.....Hoover has been engineered very well and they made the machine that could put Bissell out of business. No comarison. The Clean Slate is smart, easy to use and clean after ward, is more powerful and the experience is great. The only thing I wish was different is making a large opening in the water tank so it doesn't take days to dry after cleaning it. Other than that, amazing. Throw your Bissell out and buy the Hoover. It took me buying a Hoover to realize I wasted years with Bissell, thinking they probably were the best. Far from the truth.

Initially I was going to give this 4 stars but for the price and what it’s intended for I have to give 5. It’s perfect for small stains. I purchased to clean my king size mattress. Results will depend on what cleaner you use and how concentrated the solution is. I cut the solution with mostly water for my mattress and should have just used it straight but lessons learned. Even with diluted solution my mattress is definitely brighter and smells great. Still some stains but they are a few years old. I’ve used it to clean my entire couch too - no major stains but to refresh it and works great. This product is best when used immediately after a spill/more recent stains and is super handy. I love how compact it is and easy to clean out and put away. I have a small duffel bag it fits in perfectly with all its parts and solution for neat storage/traveling. We own a rental property and like to bring it between guests incase we need a quick spot clean on carpets/mattresses/couch. One of the attachments broke first time I used it due to user error when trying to take apart but totally my fault. Other attachments work great! Suction is awesome. There was some leakage from the spout after my 2nd use but if you clean the device regularly and fidget with the mechanism that causes the solution to come out you can self correct it. The second time using the solution kept coming out even when i wasn’t squeezing the “trigger” but I was able to pull it back into place and haven’t had that issue since. It’s not a deep steam cleaner so if that’s what you’re looking for spend more $$ on a more powerful item, but for the price and what it’s intended for (spills/pet accidents) would say this is a quality product and look no further

This worked surprisingly well, even on an old stain. I use it mostly for cat vomit but tried it on an old food/drink spill on a dining room chair that was probably a year old (photos) and it got it completely gone. I did have an issue trying to do small, narrow, sides or edges of things like the sides of these chairs and a narrow leg on another chair. The solution dispenses from one spot on the underside of the tool head (pointing to it in photo). So when doing the side edge of the chair you'd think holding the tool in the right position would be the way to go...but it isn't because then you have to move the tool head left/right to dispense the solution. I had to turn and use the tool sideways to get the solution along the little edge. This worked better, but the solution shoots out too far and got all over the floor. Luckily I have tile so it was no big deal but if you have carpet you've been warned. Suction is good and most of the water it puts out it sucks up. Didn't take too long for things to dry. Easy to carry around. Love that the tube and cord wrap around the device so storage is easy. Tube cleaning option is interesting. It did work. Not sure I've ever cleaned or thought about cleaning a cleaning tube hose. Overall, happy.

Works. I had condensation stains from using thermal curtains during the winter (cold air from window hitting warm air in house). I went over it one time and got results. It was easy to use and the solution smells great. I feel like it was worth the money. I had no issues with leakage and it was portable and not very heavy. Also I was worried about how loud it was, but that was not an issue. It didn’t wake up my newborn and no louder than an average vacuum. I taped my curtains back to allow for drying, dry within an hour. The vacuum does a great job of drying and left with minimal moisture. Attached are before and after of just one good go over.

Such a good wet vacuum. One of my cats used to pee outside of her litter box on my bed and couch, this Hoover wet vacuum came in handy to get out all the pee and using an odorant helped removed the smell. I did have to spray and go over it multiple times to fully get it out, but that wasn’t an issue for me. Also, I have white carpets and 2 kids… so this thing has saved me many of times. I liked my purchase so much, that a year and a half later I just now bought a second wet vacuum for my truck. My only concern is that I should’ve bought the cordless as the second choice because now I have to run a long cord from my balcony on the 3rd floor down to my truck to vacuum it. My best friends bf spilled something all over my backseat and now it smells. So I need to clean it out but didn’t want to use the same vacuum I use in my home for it.

EDIT haven’t used this in six months. Today had a puppy staying over and she peed on the bedroom carpet. The spray function did not work. Then when I took it apart to empty it, it started leaking water all over the place. Out of the bottom of the machine. Pretty sure there should not be water leaking out of there. That means there’s a hose broken somewhere. I will contact Hoover and see if they are willing to warranty or repair. But I’m not counting on much. 14 months later and it’s scrap. This was cleaned properly according to directions, and left open to dry after every use. Timing is everything! I've been eyeing a carpet and upholstery cleaner for quite some time and a small one on sale seems like too good to pass up. Ordered it, it arrived the following Tuesday. On Wednesday I made sure I knew how it worked. On Thursday I had an elderly dog come stay with me... I left him alone for 5 minutes to go to the bathroom and he had diarrhea all over four different carpets. Two of them are light colored carpets (argggg!) So I pulled out the Hoover and got to work. I'm amazed how little time it took for me to clean up all the stains. Everything came out. Both the Berber carpet and the cut pile. No stink left. I did not take before pictures (ewww) which makes after pictures kind of pointless. It was very easy to assemble, fill and use. It is super easy to clean out, and put away.

First of all the appearance. People are visual creatures. The designer did a very good job there. I hate Bissels green color it’s awkward and doesn’t fit anywhere. But oh well this is not a review for Bissell (which is in the trash by the way). This small appliance stands out with cute, minimalistic and sleek design. It is more of a square shape, stands firmly on the carpet and is lightweight to carry around. The cord is sturdy and wraps in place perfectly. The two tanks attach and detach EASILY (bye Bissell). The ranks are also designed in a way that you can actually RINSE them WITHOUT gunk sitting inside. Like actually rinse them. Another kudos for designer. Now after the visual and ergonomic serenade let’s get to function. Has main tool which is about 6 inches wide and sucks water from one edge to another. Means you spend less time cleaning than you would with you know what’s tool. Has another smaller brush for creases which I haven’t used and an interchangeable silicone scrubber which I actually did use. The suction is really good! This was an emergency purchase after a large coffee spill about 12 oz and 6 hours in. Tried to lift it with baking soda and salt it was still a puddle of wet brown disgusting mess. You can see the result for yourself in photos. I didn’t even pre treat. Solution sat there for maybe 3 minutes at most. Also pet stains (#2) on another carpet or different height and structure. Just see if for yourself. This is why Hoover is better.

I have purchsed 2 different Hoover carpet & upholstery cleaners. On both cleaners the pump quit working in a year are less I will not purchase anything else from Hoover. Broke to soon.

Great carpet spot cleaner. Easy to use.

I was stuck between the Hoover CleanSlate and Bissell Little Green Machine and after much research am so happy I went with the Hoover. Suction is excellent. I’ve cleaner a set of six truly disgusting upholstered dining chairs and an entire area rug so far. Seriously impressed with the results! I’ve included before & after pictures of one of the dining chairs. The after photo is of the chair completely dry.

La mejor compra, definitivamente lo recomiendo. No hace magia, también uno debe ponerle un poco de fuerza y creatividad, al inicio lo hice con agua fría y sentí que no hacía mucho, después puse agua caliente y todo fue mas fácil y rápido. Primero di una pasada con agua caliente y el líquido removedor de mugre, luego di 3 mas solo con agua limpia y caliente, para extraer el agua con removedor y al mismo tiempo la mugre que ya se había aflojado de la tela. Aplicando la fuerza suficiente para que la máquina extraiga el agua, mi sillón quedo solo húmedo, y amaneció seco.

Shambles. Absolutely ripped off. Amazon totally letting me down with refund too.

Love that it's so easy to use ,really does a great job. I have a white sectional couch so as one can imagine it's alot to clean. I admit I was a little skeptical but hopeful ☺️ and it did not disappoint. Highly recommend this little guy. I even cleaned my 5×7 area rug ......amazing . Try it for urself I don't think u will be disappointed either.
