NSL-101 Natural Himalayan Hand Carved Salt Lamp with Indian Rosewood Base, Bulb and Dimmer Control, Medium Size, 8-11 lbs, 7.5-10" Height

I have always wanted to try one of these and I'm so glad I did. We are planning to buy more as Christmas gifts. Some things you may want to know before purchasing: 1) The box it comes in is plain cardboard that fits tightly to the lamp - it doesn't look nice - or even particularly sturdy - but the lamp arrived undamaged. I'm still going to ship these directly to our gift recipients, but if you care how nice the box presents, well, this one would dismay you. ;) 2) When we first turned ours on, I noticed a lot of dark black/gray spots on the outside of the lamp, like ink transfer or something like that. I think we'll be able to dremel it off, so I kept the lamp. Since receiving ours, I've noticed several lamps on display in stores and a lot of them have the same spots - I'm now wondering if it is the way the rocks are handled in before the lamps are assembled - like the dark is where the rocks rubbed each other. I don't know what causes it, but I thought some people might want to know about this. 3) Remember that you are buying a natural stone - every stone is different and not all sides of the stone are as lovely a shape as what is shown in pictures of salt lamps. 3.5) This lamp does not come with an extra bulb - I only mention this because it seems that some others do. 4) The base of the lamp is as beautiful as shown. 5) We love the dimmer/on/off switch! 6) I have this on my bedside table as a getting ready for bed lamp. Just last night, I was staying up later than my hub and I told him he didn't have to leave the salt lamp on for me if it bothered him and he said, "No, I like it - it's soothing." 7) You can't beat this price for this size of lamp. As I mentioned, I've noticed these on display all over town during my Christmas shopping. None of the prices compare for this large of a lamp, with such a nice base, and a dimmer switch. Overall, I couldn't be happier with this purchase!

I've only had my lamp for a few hours and I love itttt!!! It is a great organic shape, and beautiful orange amber color when lit. I like the dimmer option, but have had it on high all night. It creates a great glow in the part of the living room where I have it, and is a great option whether I use it with another lamp on in the room, or on its own. I know it's only been a few hours, but I really feel like it has created better indoor air quality for breathing, my mood is good, and my nap on the couch was also great. It seems to have an effect on my dog, too, as he seems to be calmer and sleeping really well all night. heheh. The lamp was packaged well, and is ready-to-use, just cut off the plastic wrapping and plug it in. I highly recommend it for the price here. It's aesthetically pleasing and calming. I feel it helps to bring an organic, outdoor refreshing energy to what can be a stale indoor environment, especially this time of year when you can't open your windows as much to get fresh air in. I'm looking forward to enjoying the benefits of this lamp in the long run. :)

It came in a timely fashion, wrapped sturdily and well, fully assembled for me, and I LOVE IT!! I have had many, all the electric cords break, and I sincerely hope that doesn't happen with this one but so far I am in LOVE with it and by this time (almost a week or so), the other's cords had already broken and this one is still going GREAT so yeah. The light brightness choice ranges from very bright to beautifully dim in a really nice gradation, the color is perfect, ranging from bits of pearlescent white on the tips of little crags to mostly the lovely pale-to-medium rose shades that everyone loves a salt lamp for! I wasn't going to, but okay I licked it! Just for this review! Wow! It is EXTREMELY salty! This was a really fantastic price for a bigger lamp and I am so, so pleased, it is EXACTLY WHAT I WANTED IT TO BE! YES!!

I like the soft glow that this lamp produces. Very comforting

I ordered 2 of these. The size on both is good. Wasn't happy that one of them is orange on top and bottom but very white in the middle the lines are so straight it looks like it could of been glued together. The picture they show is very deceiving because they show a very bright orange and that is not the case in the 2 I got. One is a very nice orange glow-not dark like the picture, while the other one is mostly white, I think the seller should show more pictures of the variety they have and not just the one picture to mislead people, I should of looked at other customer review pictures before purchasing and I would of realized they are not always orange. Any how keeping them may have to move the one. They are on my night stands and being that they do not look anything alike in color it will bother me.. I deducted one star because of the one being mostly white and the seller not mentioning this any where in their description - they only listed it as having a nice orange glow and showed a picture of a solid bright orange glow,

I really should have reviewed this seller and product 3x ago, but alas... We got our first lamp for my son for Christmas a couple years ago. He loved it. I got my husband one, he passed it to my 4 year old daughter to act as a nightlight. We bought my 3 year old one as a nightlight. I got one for my sister in law and mother in law for Christmas... I went to get another for my husband for Christmas and everywhere was sold out. This is how much we LOVE our salt lamps. It's a beautiful item and if it does have beneficial properties, it's a bonus to us! The children have really enjoyed their salt lamp glow and I believe it has helped to soothe them. The salt lamp in my 4 year old's room is not really all that bright, but after we put it in their for her, she stopped requesting us to leave the big light on for her. I say that must have given her some calming. I am buying two now, one for our bedroom and our living room, and two more, one for my work office and for my husband's office. Seriously, told you we love our salt lamps!

when i buy things on amazon i try to read a lot of the reviews to see what people say, i found that its better the the description. so here is my few lines, I got this for my kids room's, since i need a light with a dimmer to help them sleep in the dark.. To start i love love love this lights, 1. There size - there big - you get your money's worth 2. The dimmer are amazing 3. The salt part - its in your mind - my kids sleep better so i give that a plus 4. Each light is different and i love that 4.5 One light is brighter then the other - the dimmer fixes that but since each kid is different you can tailor the light to the kid I love this light i recommend them if you are looking for a low light that is red (amber) - my web search for kids better night sleep said that white, blue or yellow light are not good for kids good night sleep, and this is the best one and checks all the box's for my kids good night sleep. i am thinking getting one more for my bedroom.

I bought this as a secret santa gift and decided to keep it. We put it in our living room and its the perfect mood setter light. We put it on about every night and turn it off before going to bed. Not sure if it changes our mood at all but it looks nice and we really enjoy it. ****UPDATED REVIEW 6 months later- I don't believe this has anything to do with the lamp itself so I am not changing the star rating. However, I do want to warn people that it could melt some. We were away for the weekend and came back to find that it had melted!! It still works just fine but the salt crusted onto our sound system speaker and even with a good scrub will remain on there as a salty stain. The speaker is just fine and so is the salt lamp, we will still be using both. But did want to warn others that with humidity, there is a chance this will melt a little. At least thats what we assume happened. The lamp had been off at the time.
