Strange but enthralling
When I first read Orion, I was overwhelmed by the use of Tantric magic, Japanese mythology and astrophysics (Strange mix I know, but you'll have to read the book). Then the twist with who I thought was the heroine of the story and also the "villains". You have to read the book a couple of times at least to get the hang of it if you are not used to any of the above theories, but all in all it was a good read, just like any of Masumane Shirow's work. A must for fans of Appleseed and Ghost in the shell (you will get the little jokes that Shirow puts in and around the frames), but it may be hard going for newcomers to Shirow and the Manga genre.
