Nice t-shirts
Decided to try these as they are made in the usa for one. I have ordered several branded t-shirts that had American Apparel tags in them that I noticed once I got them and was very impressed with the material really being a soft, fine knit cotton, and the fit was slim and fairly long. These other shirts have shrunk a bit after washing many times now but have remained a good length for me at 6'2" to tuck in or leave un-tucked with just the right amount of length (really not too long or too short). I have had trouble finding decent t-shirts for everyday wear under dress shirts, ones that are nicer than the big box stores sell, not bulky material (i.e. doesn't heat you up too much) and slim fit. These may not be the best I have found but they look like they should work fine and time will tell how they rank. I have worn t-shirts by Sunspel and Zimmerli that cost many times what these cost and have not been overly impressed vs other brands so if these work well I will save some money/be able to replace them more often.

Best Fitting Vneck - and can't beat the prices on Amazon
Can't go wrong with an American Apparel Vneck - great fitting and quality shirts - my go-to brand for Tshirts (I am 6', 185 pounds with athletic build and Large fits like a tailored shirt).. I have probably a dozen colors, and they are about a third the price on Amazon as you would find in a retail store. Great price for a versatile shirt that can be worn casual, at the gym, or paired with chinos or a blazer for a slightly dressier look.

Just OK
These are okay for unisex apparel. I got the 2X for a good chest fit (44D) and it fits ok. Too big in the shoulders and way too long. Comes down to top of thighs. Washes well. Not thick material but normal tee shirt weight. Fabric got much softer out of the dryer but the shrinkage was a full size at least! Now hits me mid hip but still OK in the bust. I'm happy with it but wish the shoulder seams didn't hit so low. For the record, I'm 5'8 with broad shoulders and a big waistline. I bought a man's item because I wanted a cheap vneck tee that didn't cost $20 or more.

Huge!
I have several American Apparel v-neck tees and I am never quite sure what kind of fit I will be getting. Some are slim, some are regular, but in both cases they fit and I am consistently a medium. I even have one or two in a large that are OK. I wanted a plain white tee and medium was unavailable so I got two in large. They are enormous. It is what I would expect from an XL if not more. I even put them thru a hot water wash and the dryer and I can't even see any difference. (Normally this would be a great thing.) The shirt length goes past my crotch and I normally like a shirt to hang right at my belt or a bit lower.Obviously I am not returning them at this point. I will wear them when I'm painting the house or something. Otherwise they are good AA quality but the oversized fit is very disappointing and annoying.

Necessary alternative to buy American Apparel Shirts While Website in Flux
With American Apparel's website temporarily in flux (Due to new ownership/direction) it was increasingly difficult to purchase these t-shirts. I hope that whatever new products American Apparel make live up to the fit and feel of the old products. Say what you will about about American Apparel as a company, but for me, these were my absolute favorite V-Neck shirts. The range of colors offered was always nice, but it was the fit and softness that always kept me coming back for more.

I love these
Most t-shirts make me feel like I am being strangled and I end up stretching them to the point that they tear a little. These shirts are now my go-to shirts; they fit great and are made of decent material.

Farewell American Apparel - (REVISED REVIEW FROM 5 STARS)
UPDATED REVIEW 06/19/2019I've always ordered American Apparel shirts as liked their cut and if you're somewhat muscular, the shirts would enhance your chest and biceps. In addition, the quality of the fabric was perfect - not too thin or thick. I liked that you were able to stretch it out a bit, so it would drape over a tummy without hugging it.Well folks, those days are over. They're being mass manufactured to output the cheapest product possible. They length is so long, they look like nightshirts. The shoulders are almost too wide, making you look like you're wearing a hand-me-down from someone 2 sizes larger than you. The arms are longer, so more of your bicep is now covered, and worst of all, they fabric feels paper thin now, so it's nipple city. That was my final order for these.. thankfully I still have a few of my older ones. I knew something was odd when the prices dropped to under $10.ORIGINAL REVIEW (WHEN IT WAS 5 STARS): Still my favorite fitting shirts -- perfect length, not balloon-like on the waste, and hem falls just past the shoulder which I love as it give your torso a nice V-Shape. Beautiful fit! I hope American Apparel is going to stick around, as I hear they're filing or have filed for Chapter 11??? Please say it ain't so!

Very Soft, not flimsy, perfect thickness
This is unisex, I'm 5'10" and I purchased Large since I'm usually a XL in womens and it fits perfectly. I love that I'm tall and the shirt isn't to short :-) I purchased the large and a week later purchased an XS for my daughter.
