If you have any vintage pens, you should also own this book
I have to say it is intimidating to consider reviewing Mr Binder's book. He is a legend in the fountain pen community. His site is constantly consulted by professionals, collectors, and wannabe repair folk. I fall into the latter camp, just someone that loves vintage Waterman fountain Pens, and wanted to be capable of replacing ink sacs and doing maintenance work on my own pens, in a competent way.The book is well organized, concise and clear. You can approach it as a reference for just the pen you want to fix, or as a course in pen repair for the motivated adult learner. Mr Binder covers not just the repair of a given model, but some of its history as well. And he presents this information in a friendly and accessible way. Yes, Mr Binder has opinions about certain pens and certain inks. (Don't we all?) I respect his opinions and judgements for what they are: advice from a nibmiester with decades of experience.

If you are going to tinker with antique pens, buy this book!
Richard Binder has been very generous with his hard earned experience and knowledge in this book. If you are going to tinker with antique pens, buy this book. In a field where there seems to be many conflicting opinions and advice commonly will lead to the destruction of a valuable antique it is a breath of fresh air to get solid trust-able information. There are only a couple of books as good or better and they are recommended by him in this book. By the way, this is just my favorite of several books Richard has written, all worthwhile. I hope he keeps writing more!

Excellent Pen Repair Resource
An excellent preservation of Richard's genius. Pictures and explanations are clear, concise, and well-written. This is a great book for the vintage fountain pen hobbyist or aspiring repair technician. The contents cover all of the major pen models, and I'd recommend purchasing Laurence Oldfield's Pen Repair 4th Edition if you'd like information on European pen repair (no affiliation), though Laurence does cover U.S. pens as well.

Buen libro, mala encuadernación
Es muy triste recibir un libro deseado con un defecto físico serio. Las primeras cuatro páginas están de cabeza y mal cortadas, lo que imposibilita su lectura. ¿Se puede devolver?

Excellent Book!
I bought this book to learn how to restore fountain pens myself as a new hobby since I am less mobile than I was. It is a step-by-step book with unimaginable detail to guide those new to fountain pens. It is also a very good reference book to those experienced in pen restoration who might just want to "make sure" they are handling a repair properly. The book is well written and the photography is beautiful. This book will always have a spot on my bench.

If you collect vintage fountain pens - this is a must
I’ve collected, made and repaired vintage fountain pens since 1962 ... that’s 58 years of inky fingers! This book is a wonder - and I wish it had been available back then.Although I know most of the ‘tricks of the trade’ there are sections in Richard’s book that will help me with future repairs and restoration.I recommend this title most highly - if you enjoy the sheer quality of writing - or collecting / restoring fine writing instruments.
