Works very well
I am not a small fellow at 270lbs. I have been sitting on one of these for six months and it works great. I like that it isn't the soft plastic so many others use. This allows my chair to roll effortlessly on medium pile carpet. I am sure it will fail eventually but so far so good.Be careful positioning it because it is stout and the spikes on the bottom can hurt if you aren't careful.

Great!
This is a great chair mat. We have plush carpet, and it does shift a bit, but they all do that. This was shipped flat, so no curling edges. We've had it a while now, and no cracks or dents from the chair.

It is heavy duty.
The reason I didn’t rate it a 5 is because it doesn’t stay in place…every couple of days I put it back where it belongs. It is a very good quality mat though.

Rolling is easy
This is hard enough so that my wheels do not sink and the chair rolls easily. Yet, it seems flexible enough that I don't think it will crack for a long time. Thank you.

Probably a great floor mat, but be careful if ordering for plush pile carpet.
Based on other reviews, I may have been sent the wrong floor mat.Mine did NOT come rolled up, and is quite a thick plastic, so I don't know that it could be rolled. My chair glides across it easily and seems like it is great quality if it were advertised correctly. The issue comes from the fact that my carpet is "Plush Pile" (just over 3/4 inch), like the title says. I followed the carpet depth measuring instructions found on the floortex website to determine this. The mat slides around on the carpet, needing adjusting multiple times a day, and bows under the weight of me and my chair. This caused it to crack with less than 6 months of use.Overall, I would be very pleased with this floor mat if it were actually for use with the advertised carpet type.

Slides around
Will not stay in place. I bought the one for thick carpet. It still slid with every movement of my chair. My chair is high quality and moves easily. The edge is rough: needs to be beveled.

A Tale of Two Chair Mats - with apologies to the spirit of Charles Dickens - Updated December, 2016
Like a lot of people, I'm sick of chair mats that crack. I liked the idea of a polycarbonate chair mat, but have been burned before by the promises of manufacturers about sturdiness. After thinking about it for a bit, I devised a plan.I bought two mats of the same size and configuration - one for bare floors and one for plush pile carpeting. The mats have slightly different thicknesses. Through correspondence with Floortex, I found out that the bare floor mat is .075" thick and the plush pile mat is .11" thick. The other major difference is that the one for carpeting has gripper teeth, while the one for bare floors is smooth on the bottom. At the same time, I also ordered some heavy-duty double-sided clear tape. This is not your everyday double-sided tape. It's an industrial strength product. The link to that tape is:http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007Y7EXAA/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_17With a little careful measuring and cutting, I put down six strips of tape - five evenly spaced across the field, and one across the lip - on the top of the mat intended for carpeting. I then carefully lowered the smooth mat for bare floors onto it, taking care to keep the edges of two mats aligned, and taking care to get the rough top surface of the bare floor mat oriented correctly so the chair would have some surface to provide a little resistance. I then used a tile roller to press them together firmly. It's been six months since I put these mats down and I've not had any cracking. I've never gone six months without any cracks appearing in a chair mat. In retrospect, I probably could have used less tape, to adhere them together, but since I bought that roll of tape just for this purpose, it was fine with me that I used the whole roll. With that much tape, they are solidly joined together.Yeah, it was sort of expensive, and it was a bit of work to put it together. But, not having to throw out $90 chair mats every four months kinda makes up for the fuss, bother, and expense.UPDATE 19 December, 2016: Okay, it's been two years since I put my Franken-mat in place and I'm very pleased to report that it's still rock solid. I've had no cracking, no discolouration, and none of the drama of having a chair mat that shifts about all the time. It's been good enough that although I promised I'd do a one year update, I've frankly forgotten about it because it just sits under my chair day after day, doing what it's supposed to do. That's good.

Exactly what I needed
Exactly what I needed. So happy with purchase. Moved and had to move my desk to high pile carpet room. This is perfect.

Almost but not quite
Rated for carpet 1/2"+ thick, but after a break-in period of only two months I'm finding my chair has starting sinking in enough that it takes more effort then it should to roll out of it.I do have a heavier Secret Labs Chair, so let's call it 260lb total. If I had paid full price for this, I would have returned and tried another brand, and that's probably why I got this one for the discounted price I did.

Impressively Firm
I returned my original one for a larger mat as I had under estimated my requirements. On that note don't make this mistake because the odd size makes return shipping absurd ($50-$80 quoted at all couriers). The product itself is great. Firm and super easy to roll on.My previous mat was a PVC one and frankly I'd never go back. The amount I spent on replacing chairs because of the force required to move out of the PVC ruts more than justifies the cost of these.

Still slides around
This floor pad is being used on carpet, and though the pad is solid and easy to slide the chair around on it, the pad still moves across the carpet. Every step on to it pushes it further away meaning I have to readjust the position of the pad constantly. Was disappointed but cannot be bothered sending it back because at least the castors on my chair don't sink into it.

Very thick chair mat, good for plush carpets
Very satisfied with this chair mat, it is holding up much better than the previous cheaper mats I owned. It does slide around a little, so tucking it under the desk edge or re-positioning it occasionally is necessary.

I liked it so much I bought another one (but NOT the company)
I loved it so much I bought a 2nd one. Came delivered flat, not rolled up like the thin cheap ones. No smell either. Worth the extra money to get something that works.I have extremely thick carpet so it does travel a bit, but the solid protection for my carpet is worth the minor inconvenience.Delivery was extremely quick.
