Bad reviews are from Bad Cooks!
Book is super beautiful, they didn’t slack on the imaging. Can’t vouch for any recipes yet. But I love the adaptions of kale chips, into lichen.. anyway full of treats can’t wait to start cooking! Update: By now I have made several recipes, I can see where they forgot to say “add peas” during one of the soups. And several parts where you add ingredients and tell you to do a stage longer then you should. Let me break it down to you, The actual ranks listed in each recipe is a given. A master cook knows that you add the peas to the pot after you remove the chicken and put in the dumpling dough. If you have issues with the recipes start by an easier rank. Think it over, I will use the chicken dumpling soup as a reference as it is a “master” recipe. When you add flour to the veggies and butter/garlic combo, what your looking for is the start of a rue. In order to get the flavor of the rue you lightly toast the flour you put in the pot, then you add the beer. After it thickens the rue is perfect so you add a cup of the broth and let it boil for several minutes to cook out the alcohol. Then you follow the last of the instructions where common sense follows that corn and pea sized veggies are always added at the last stage to avoid becoming soggy. (This information is left out of the recipe, but it is labeled as a MASTER recipe for this reason) This is what makes the difference between a Master skill recipe and an apprentice. Being able to pinpoint and know what your looking for as you cook. This book is great, I wouldn’t recommend it to a person who does not comprehend the basics of cooking(Can you name at least 4 mother sauces and how to make them? No? Skip this book, or do some research). Also some of the spice ingredients and even food ingredients are “specialty” food store purchases only. With this in mind, a lot of non experienced cooks won’t begin to understand the balance of these spices and flavors which makes it easy to ruin what your making, especially if you have no idea what a pinch of salt means.. (I put a pinch of the spice combos directly on my tongue the first time I combo any spice, really good mixes, unique flavors. I recommend doing the same at least once to enhance your flavor/taste pallet. Helps you learn.) However if your passionate and know basic about cooking and actual cooking terms, plus you love the game. It is pretty damn amazing. Every recipe I have tried so far was amazing, refreshing and added to the taste pallet of the household. As a chef with a bit of skill cooking.. not so much the display. I have even created my own works and substitutes like basil instead of rosemary for the spiced eggs recipe, making it taste sweeter. Already planning to do a full thanksgiving feast based off of pilgrims bounty. With a few winter drinks thrown in. If you know someone who cooks a feast, and loves WOW get them this book. It will be the best damn gift you could ever get then!

Absolutely awesome cookbook whether you play WOW or not.
Ok, I admit gladly that I am a World of Warcraft addict. I also LOVE cookbooks and collect them. So when I saw that they made a WOW cookbook I absolutely HAD to have it. I thought it would be cute and likely never used. However, when the book came in I was surprised at how easy and detailed the recipes were. Loved how they instituted normal food for WOWs made up names. Like Buzzard bites, made with ground turkey and omg they are SO yummy and incredibly easy as well! You also get gorgeous images for each dish as well as illustrations that represent WOW characters and lands. Seriously this cookbook has blown me away. What I thought would be just a neat coffee table book to show off my geekdom and love of a game turned out to be a true bonified awesome cookbook! I've made several recipes now and so far every one of them has been completely yummy. I highly recommend making the Bloodberry Tart. You won't be disappointed. This is perfect for all the gamers out there that love WOW, like me, and also for anyone out there that loves to cook. Even if you have no clue what World of Warcraft is (like if you live under a rock) you will still LOVE this cookbook. It's fun in it's whimsy and yet still professional in it's recipes and publications. A definite win win all around!

Great gift for a WoW player
Half my family has July birthdays and one sister in particular is not easy to find a gift for. She's been playing World of Warcraft since its early days and after coming across the official cookbook, I snagged it for her. She loves the recipes within and has sent me pictures of the meals that came from within the book. While it will never replace more traditional cookbooks, being able to add a little lore enjoyment to the dinner table is a way to bring a smile to a sibling's face.

One of my favorite purchases!!
Do you like to play WoW? Do you like food? BUY THIS BOOK!! The other reviews sold me, and I hope mine helps sell others: this is a legit cookbook with a ton of delicious recipes that just so happen to be named after recipes you learn with your cooking profession in the game. As someone who loves to cook, that combination makes the creation of these recipes all the more fun! What’s funny is my boyfriend doesn’t play, so my cooking things for us to eat together is my way of making him enjoy WoW with me. So far, I’ve mixed up the Northern Spices, made Firecracker Salmon and Steaming Chicken Soup (minus the chicken), and have baked Mulgore Bread — which was super easy and delicious! Some recipes are obviously more challenging than others, but even if you’re new to cooking, there’s plenty to start out with and “level up,” and there are indicators throughout which tell you what recipes may require more skill. There’s a lot of great pastry recipes in here, and if you’re new to bread-making, don’t let it scare you! It’s important to use white flour (or at least half white flour) for yeast breads to rise properly, but you can google tips and also additional info if any part of it isn’t straightforward. Especially now when there’s not a clear end to this pandemic, being able to cook at home is so important, and this cookbook definitely makes that a much more epic and fun task!

Browse, take your time, enjoy.
We got it on a whim for a WoW party to celebrate Classic re-release and boy was it worth it! Everything we've made so far has been great. We've probably only gotten through a third of the book so far, but we have yet to have even a mediocre meal out of it. Every recipe has a beautiful full-page color picture, pairings, and the themed ingredients have explanations and recipes. It would have been so easy for them to cash-out on a half-assed book with unimaginative and so/so themed recipes but this has some real effort and care to it with twists on classic dishes and drinks... OH the drinks, this book is worth it for the cocktails alone! Storytime- I HATE deviled eggs, I do not like them Sam-I-Am, Never had one I even kind-of liked. BUT since a portion of our guests enjoy them to some degree and we needed easy finger food we made the Fel Eggs and Ham for the party. This recipe changed my whole tune, and what's more, they were a MASSIVE hit, everyone loved them- guests who hate deviled eggs and guests who adore them. There were requests for more well after we were out. Pretty sure they're our party-must-have now. I thought I was over hardcover cookbooks but I was wrong. I hope this author makes more recipe books in the future, but I'm DEFINITELY gonna check out their back catalog.

Try the Pandaren rice pudding.
This book is a lot of fun. The recipes are hit-or-miss, some are great and some are eh. I do especially recommend the rice pudding and chicken soup, and the spice blends are excellent. I used a coffee grinder on these, and enjoyed seeking out the more obscure items. Ironforge Rations were even surprisingly good. It is a fun way to bring a World of Warcraft obsession (like mine) into the real world. Just put on a WoW soundtrack while those herb rolls are in the oven and it's almost like being in Stormwind!

It is what I imagine Northrend recipes would taste and smell like!
OK, we have only made Northrend recipes, so far but we have all the ingredients to blend all the other spices. The Northrend recipes are so good...I swear, I can smell the snow and winds of Northrend as we are eating! lol No joke. We did hunt down each ingredient in the book, as we plan to make almost every recipe. If you do decide to use this cool book, instead of just collecting another WOW item, then do not skimp on the quality of the ingredients - get really good quality spices, or wait until you have the money to get them. Don't cheese out. The quality of the ingredients you grind together will either make or break your dish, as they determine the potency of the spices, themselves, which in turn determines the taste of the food. Ya...I know, it is a b***h to hand grind the dried juniper berries, and grind you MUST, because you do NOT want them any way other than completely and utterly ground, and ground!.. and your pestle will smell like them for ever...and ever, but just enjoy the smell :). If you do not thoroughly grind them and you bite into a not entirely smooshed piece of juniper berry, you will...lol well, just say it is like biting into a big piece of clove. It can ruin your meal. Yes, you may have to do some hunting for some of the spices, depending on where you live, (what we could not find at our local stores, we were able to get on Amazon.). BUT, again, if you want the full experience of the meal, ya are just going to have to suck it up...like we did. Grind, and grind, then go grind up your spices and make some fun, really good food. :) (P.S. the Firecracker Salmon is my favorite!)

Amazing cookbook. Try some Azerothian delicacies
I love World of Warcraft, so when I discovered a cookbook I just had to get it. Some great recipes, and the adaptations from Azeroth to Earth are incredibly delightful.
