No nonsense wooden chess set. I bought this to use while I learn how to play chess. I didn't want a multi-game set or anything plastic or cheaply made. This set is perfect. It will last a long time, it's incredibly affordable, it's big enough to be useful but small enough to not get in the way.

Value for the money is great for this smaller size chess set. Bought this for our 7 year old son who is just learning and excited to play chess. Sturdy wood board and pieces. We didn’t need something super high quality but wanted something better than cardboard and plastic. This fit the bill perfecty.

I wanted my husband to teach me how to play chess. Just wanted a simple, affordable set and that’s what this is. Not very heavy duty but it’s good enough for what we need.

I’m not a great chess player- I don’t really play that often either, so this was a great option for me to have a chess set (that is decent enough) without feeling guilty that I don’t use it that much 🥲 really good for beginners!
