Perfect size for my sourdough boule....clean, NO splinters...NO rough egdes...packed well...recommended product.

Been using it now for a couple of weeks. Works great. Don't use the material cover because I want the lines of impression. My picture is of the long one my daughter bought me but you can clearly see how the lines make an impressive design and I bought the round banneton because of how well the oblong one worked.

The basket is great! I bought this because it came with a liner, but the liner has a hard time sitting flush against the bottom of the basket since the elastic pulls it upward. The seam lines in the liner give it a weird imprint and shape, but it's hardly noticeable. However, I still use the basket without the liner and it works perfectly.

Great banneton for the price. I don't use the liner except to cover the top of the bread. Will take over 1 lb of dough, so this is NOT a small banneton. Be sure to spray the interior of the basket with water, then flour it before first use, and after use, let it air dry and scrape off any sticking dough. Non-stick if you do it this way, but I wouldn't recommend really wet dough. Makes a beautiful loaf. The liner hides the spiral design, so I don't use it.

I bought this smaller 8" banneton as I have the same larger unit. The important thing to remember is to flour all the inside areas with flour and rub it into the inner surface before first use. I have used it 11 times so far and never had highly hydrated dough stick to the sides during second proofing.I always lightly re-dust the inside before each use which is probably not necessary. Remember to wipe clean with a dry paper towel or rag and not to get the banneton wet.

The material used for the liner in this banneton is a much looser weave than others I have used. No matter how much flour I coat it with, the material absorbs moisture and the dough sticks to it.

This basket and it's liner are very nicely made, no splinters or defects and would normally get 5 stars. I bought the 7.9 inch banneton to use with my 8 inch diameter Dutch oven. My 3 star rating is for sending the wrong size and then my dealing with sending it back. The tag on basket I received was labeled as 7.9 inches, the basket was closer to the 7 inch basket they also sell, a size I did not want.

I am new to this style of bread baking, but these bannetons make the process very easy. Highly recommended if you want to bake like the French, or at least as close to that as we can get on this side of the pond.
