That is the energy it takes to draw the bow to a firing position, i.e. 28# requires 28 pounds of pull. The higher the number requires more pounds to draw.

I think so. It is a light bow, I got it for my girlfriend who is only a couple inches taller than you and she got used to it pretty quick! The hardest part will be stringing and unstringing it, be sure to watch a video on the proper way to safely string a bow and practice that, and you'll be fine.

It all depend how big, & strong, and what you wan to do with it. It goes from 22-34 lbs. For a youth or small woman novice, low 20's would be good. If you have been shooting for a while or bigger, upper 20's to 30's would b good. This is best for close target shooting, especially with lower strength bows. I use this for close target practice, and a 45 for a bit father. My son (150 lbs.) uses a 45 and 50, but has been shooting for years. If a bow is too strong, you will not hold it steady enough to hit the targets.
