The sticky pad that came with this item failed in less than one month. I installed it according to the manufacturer's directions ensured it was clean and even clamped it for 24 hours before using it. I really only bought this item because the magsafe mount I really wanted was sold out. The strength of the magnet is also weaker than such a device should implement; I managed to bruise my knee after my phone came dislodged after going over a speed bump at a fairly reasonable pace. The one I had in a prior vehicle that proved to be extremely reliable was made by a company named ESR, you can find it on Amazon if you include "magsafe" and "esr" in your search. It has since come back in stock and I had already purchased it when this one failed because the magsafe part of the product was compatible with the arm from this one, perhaps the slightly larger mount of the ESR caused this product to fail; but I sincerely doubt that was the cause. After this failed on me in the past couple hours, I have already cleaned the area and installed the arm provided by ESR. It was installed on a 2023 GR Corolla, and not a Tesla. You mileage my vary in a Tesla despite the navigation screens in Teslas and my vehicle being a similar shape and orientation. It did power my phone at the expected speeds (rapid) when I used the magsafe mount included, so I guess that's enough for the one-star I have to give the product. It also came with yet another cigarette lighter USB adapter that is ugly and bulky and was immediately replaced with something that worked with my vehicle more pleasurably. While I've somewhat run out of USB-C to USB-C A/C chargers since manufacturers claim their being environmentally conscience by reducing creating e-waste, I have a half dozen mediocre cigaratte lighter adapters that have come with all sorts of random devices I don't even use in the car. Let's stop sending that crap out with these things.

07-2023 - several times over the past year the company has emailed me offering me free items if i will 'revise my review'. so here i am revising my review without accepting bribes to say that they will harass you even a year later. took off another star for that. Company bombards me several times a week with emails asking me to 'update my review'. Very annoying. Setting up a filter to send them into the trash. Will never buy from them again. HORRIBLE customer service. STOP SPAMMING ME! ----- original review: Using this mount in a 2016 RAV 4. Because of the curved and textured dashboard I can't use the suction mount nor the mounting plate on the dashboard. The vent mount will work on the rectangular center vents, but the phone blocks air coming out of the vent and the placement isn't convenient, again, this is Toyota's fault. So, the only option left for me is to stick the mount to the windshield, which it does and holds well, so far. My problem is with the ball-and-socket mount phone grabber. First, the grabber needs two hands to operate, one to hold the phone in place, the second to squeeze the sides tight. And to release you have to reach around behind the phone to find the little tabs to release the arms. Inconvenient. A friend has a similar mount that has very long release tabs that stick out past the phone. Second, my plain old iPhone 12 is too heavy, the ball-and-socket hinge simply won't get tight enough to hold the mount upright when the phone is in place. It will stay in position by itself, as soon as I put my phone in it tilts down. I've tried re-attaching, tightening it (by hand) as hard as I can, there's just not enough friction to keep it upright. So I had to raise the mount-arm as high as I can so the phone tilted down is in a somewhat readable position. Not sure if I have a defective unit, or this is a unit defect. I'm not really thrilled with the mount, but I can make it work for me for now. If you have a flat, smooth dashboard it will work good on there, unless you were looking for a windshield mount and it will be perfectly fine there. If you have a heavy phone, might want to consider a different mount. Can't really recommend this one, sorry.

This worked perfectly in my vehicle making hands free driving easy. Installation was very simple, easy to charge my phone in this mount. Very stable, my phone never fell out or off.

Overall this is a pretty decent phone mount. I have used it with both the windshield and vent mounts. The only problem I have is the design of the ball swivel. The socket contains a rubber piece to help increase the grip, but over time heat from the sun or the air vent makes the ball glue itself to this rubber piece. When you try to make an adjustment, the ball will not move in the socket and ends up breaking the socket. This is happened to me twice.

I have two of these for two different vehicles. The functionality of the holder is great. I liked that the adjustment angle and telescoping arm allowed me to the phone not block any of the windshield view. The base never loosened or gave way. What I didn't like is that after a couple of years in the car, the adhesive(?) suction base has melted and created a gooey mess on my dashboard. I have not found anything that can remove the sticky residue. My second unit is clearly starting to melt, although it hasn't reached the dashboard as yet (it's attached via a metal disk on the dashboard. Sadly I'll have to remove it shortly before it does reach the dashboard. Too bad because I would buy another and recommend it otherwise.

This works almost perfectly in my Tesla, with one small tweak for hot summer conditions. It holds my phone very well overall—I position it slightly off-center at about the 10 o’clock position. However, with a larger phone like the Galaxy S25 Ultra, the combination of weight and summer heat can cause the mount to slowly rotate as the suction cup loses some grip. I found a simple fix that works extremely well: applying a small amount of rosin (the same kind used for violin bows) to the friction point where the rotating arm meets the suction base. That added grip completely solved the issue. Now the mount stays exactly where I position it, even in the heat. Solid product, and with that minor adjustment, it performs exactly how I need it to.

Strong, well-made, excellent clear instructions. I particularly like its versatility in that it can be fitted to the car in three ways: suction to windscreen, suction to dashboard (with adhesive fitting if required) or fixed to air vent. I have used the last method and the mount seems to be very secure. (I can't therefore comment on its suction). Quick and easy to fit or remove mobile phone from it. It should fit virtually any mobile phone with its easily adjustable clamps - fine with my iPhone 6s. Would certainly recommend.
