Simpson company is a savvy thief.
Not much to say except that I literally saved a few hundred dollars on the job because these were so much more expensive at the lumber store than amazon. Simpson is a rip-off company that learned how to master or manipulate the code to require their products. Smart business but the consumer pays for it.

A little pricey but does the job.
Used to mount ledger board on back of my shed. Mounted 2 x 8 board into studs and double sill plate. through 1 - 1/2 thick ledger, 1/2 siding into 3 1/2 inch wide 2x4's . Installed 2 -3 every 16 inches for 12 foot length. Pre drilled holes and looks like they are holding well in the 2 x 4's to support a 12 x 12 canopy off back of my shed. Do your math according to Simpsons weight chart to see how much weight each Tie will hold and number required to be sure.
