I primarily use it for coffee. It will keep the coffee hot at least into the afternoon. Of course, everyone has a different opinion on what they mean by "hot". In the morning it is still hot enough to burn my mouth. In the afternoon it is drinkable hot. I haven't found a reasonably priced and sized thermos that will maintain burn temperature for 24 hours, and this one won't either. But it does keep it at an adequate temperature for me throughout the day. It is a little larger than I needed, by about 4 ounces, so I don't need to fill it completely. I haven't had it leak yet either.
