The blades are stainless steel but very sadly the shafts to the blades are not stainless steel, but chrome plated, so the steel rusts blistering the chrome plating looking a right mess. Spoiling the ship for 1\2 penny of tar springs to mind. Apart from that a good mixer for the price. My next mixer will have all stainless steel blades, how to find it is another matter. **Q: Is it energy efficient?** A: Yes.
