Double white and blue colored vinyl LP pressing housed in a gatefold sleeve. Reel Big Fish is one of the legions of Southern California ska-punk bands to edge into the mainstream following the mid-'90s success of No Doubt and Sublime. Like most of their peers, the band is distinguished by their hyperkinetic stage shows, juvenile humor, ironic covers of new wave pop songs, and metallic shards of ska. Originally issued in 2010 as a bonus disc in the band's greatest hits compilation A Best of Us... for the Rest of Us, Skacoustic gathers 22 of Reel Big Fish's biggest hits recorded as acoustic versions including "Sell Out," "Beer," "She Has A Girlfriend Now," "Another F.U. Song," "Your Guts (I Hate 'Em)," and "Don't Start A Band" among many more.

A thoroughly enjoyable and fun album from start to finish!
Skacoustic is straight and to the point. It's a relatively good mix of some of our favorite RBF tracks. I really enjoy that it's just the band and their instruments and that the album doesn't have any gimmicks. It isn't over-produced, which is pleasant. If you like RBF at all, you'll love this album.

Tout suite!
Made it over here from UK pretty quick.

Great Goofy Stuff.
If you have no sense of humor, this band is not for you and you are truly not for them. The acoustic sounds give it just that little extra nerdiness, like a campfire song that suddenly makes you want to dance.

I'm a big fan of ska...
and RBF. This is what I pretty much expected and enjoy. The acoustic versions are definitely an interesting take especially since some songs are more on the obscure side for non fans.

Sealed with manufacturing defect.
Arrived with a giant cut in the vinyl, rendering it unplayable. Poor manufacturing. Literally cut entirely through.

A creative and original album with lots of surprises
Do I think it's worth 10 dollars? Yes, very much so, but that's my opinion. What other people decide, that's their own opinion. Reel Big Fish are going to keep doing what they do whether or not a single record is sold. Whatever you want to call it, it will piss people off. And that, at the end of the day, is all that really matters. As my good friend always says, you are indeed a cassette, and unfortunately you just don't get it. Peace out bitches.

A Work of Skart.
When looking through the extensive Reel Big Fish library, there's one glaring hole. Or there used to be. An acoustic album. These guys have tackled it all: originals, songs from the 80's, Morrisey classics, a full live set and their own old songs. Some people might say that you don't need 3 versions of Skatanic, but those people would be wrong. The horn work on this is very subtle and doesn't overtake the softer arrangements on here. Ryland Steen shows his incredible versatility, when posed with the task of keeping the beat in a totally new way. They're taking back their discography from Jive Records one skaoldie but goodie at a time, and good on them. This record keeps my faith that Reel Big Fish is keeping moving in the right direction and not at all retreading the same platitudes that they've beat to death already.

Cant stop listening to this. The blue and white vinyls are really cool. Unfortunately I find the album cover is quite low quality but still a really good buy.
