Review: Soft, Flexible for Long Dance Practice, pay attention to sizing - I’ve been watching these jazz shoes for quite some time before finally ordering them, so I have a few observations that I think are worth sharing. First, if you happen to wear a size 8½, lucky you! That size has consistently been offered at a noticeably lower price whenever I’ve checked. Unfortunately, I wear a size 7 and paid almost double. FIT: I ordered my normal size 7 and I’m very glad I did. Dance shoes are one of those things where you will often hear people recommend sizing down for a snugger fit. I would NOT do that with these. They fit well now, but once they are completely broken in I suspect I may eventually need a very thin footie sock to take up a little extra room. That isn’t a negative for me. I would much rather have a leather dance shoe conform to my foot over time than start out painfully tight because I sized down. QUALITY: The stitching and construction on my pair look good, the elastic keeps the shoe securely on my foot, and the leather feels surprisingly nice and supple. The fit was okay, I had to buy 1/2 size larger than my normal size. The shoe itself took a bit of getting used to because the heel and ball had soles but between was flexible. Used for line dancing, they were perfect! I prefer them over sneakers.
