Do these clogs have a chemical smell?

Very slight, but it isn't unpleasant. To be honest once they are on and you are outdoors you can't smell them at all.

Do they grip on wet tiles ????

I’ve just been out and experimented. They grip on our wet porcelain tiles but we chose porcelain because they’re not slippery. Depends on your tiles I expect.

These do not have a strap. Are they deep enough at the heel to stay secur on the foot?

They are a good fit - not too deep, but enough to stay on my feet securely. I am very pleased with them and they are very comfortable
