This is probably the biggest drawback to the Fugoo Sport. Because it really could be any Bluetooth speaker. And if you’re none the wiser, crawling the web in search of the right speaker, you might just assume such. But that’s also the only drawback, at least for those that don’t own the Fugoo Sport Bluetooth speaker. But that isn’t to say it isn’t attractive or well built. Quite the opposite in fact, and hence why it’s at the top of our best Bluetooth speaker list.Inside of the waterproof speaker, is not only a battery that is good for 40 hours of playback, but two 28mm neodymium tweeters, two 39mm neodymium aluminum domed mid/woofers. Both are complemented by 2 passive radiators that are designed to enhance bass – don’t worry, I’ll get into audio quality soon enough. That all in mind, Fugoo says the drivers are facing in every direction, providing 360 degrees of sound. In the hand, the Fugoo Sport is as solid as they come, at least for a speaker of this size, which measures 2.3″ x 7.4″ x 2.9″ and weighs just a few ounces over 1 lb. (538g) – small enough to be thrown in a bag or purse. Part of that weight can be attributed to its included Sport jacket, which is removable, provided you can pry it loss from the speaker itself. I couldn’t despite the included instructions. Nevertheless, this enables the Fugoo Sport to take a 6 foot tumble and keep on ticking, though something tells me it could handle a greater height. And despite it being waterproof in up to 3 feet of water for up to 30 minutes, the headphone and microUSB charging port are not sealed. This is contrary to most bluetooth speakers, such as Ultimate Ears (UE Boom Review), which has a rubber flap that seals the 3.5mm input and charging port. Because of this, I believe the Fugoo Sport could still be waterproof without its Sport Jacket, but that’s conjecture and I have no way to tell otherwise. Update: the Jacket is sold separately and appears to make it waterproof. Conversely, you can remove the Jacket, and in turn reduce the Fugoo’s weight. You can replace it with the Style Jacket, which is also sold as a package or separately. Update 2: the speaker is waterproof by default, but Fugoo recommends the jacket as it protects the drivers.Turning over the Fugoo reveals two screw holes which keep the Sport Jacket tightly adhered to the core of the speaker. The screws ship inside the box and can be added after the fact. By my account you won’t need them in place to keep the Jacket adhered. But I should warn you that the screw holes are used in the packaging. Fugoo wants you to unscrew a set of throw away plastic screws during the unboxing, but good luck with that. I ended up snapping the plastic base display stand into pieces until I was able to relieve enough pressure from either plastic screw until I could turn them turn them by hand. In other words, unboxing the Fugoo Sport was probably the most challenging part of owning this speaker. That and removing the Sport Jacket. I should also mention there is a mount hole on the bottom for accessories, which is designed to work with the bike mount and a few accessories.Lastly, the left side of the speaker houses the power and Bluetooth button. While the top include volume buttons and an additional button for activating Siri, Google Now or initiating a phone call. And speaking of which, the Fugoo Bluetooth Speaker has a built-in microphone with echo cancellation.Fugoo PerformanceFugoo Speaker ReviewThe Fugoo Bluetooth speaker naked (without its Jacket)You’ll be checking your ears twice when you begin to playback music from your Fugoo Bluetooth speaker, because yes, it sounds that good. For such a tiny box this BLE compatible speaker can crank.Compared to the UE Boom it doesn’t sound quite as clean, but it’s most certainly almost on par. The sound stage for such a small speaker is impressive, as is the amount of bass and all together amplitude it can kick out. And yes, it’s loud enough to fill most rooms with audio, albeit there is an inevitable limit, simply because of the power source and size of the speaker itself.I particularly like the fact that the sound plays in all directions. This negates the need to rotate or turn the speaker in the direction of those listening. And unlike most Bluetooth speakers on the market, the Fugoo Sport is aptX compatible, which means better sound quality if you’ve got a compatible device. However, the iPhone 6 and 6s (and all the models before it) don’t support aptX, so you’ll have to look to an Android device to find this. Though, I’ve often found that the iPhone produces some of the cleanest audio of any handset, even when streaming music from Spotify, albeit from its highest playback setting. So a moot issue for iPhone users.Wrap UpAside from the challenges removing the speaker from both the display box and the Sport Jacket, there is nothing – zero, zilch – wrong with this very portable Bluetooth Speaker. For full disclosure’s sake, I wasn’t able to put the Fugoo Sport’s battery to the test of 40 hours simply because, well, I don’t have the time to sit and monitor 40 hours of audio playback. But so far, after hours of use, the battery has waned very little, which by the way can be determined by tapping that power button on the top of the speaker – it will emit a voice that will state how much battery remains. Arguably, one could say that the Fugoo Sport is a bit on the heavy side. But in this case, I’m more concerned about a Bluetooth speaker’s physical dimensions, and with respect to that, the output. And in this case, the Fugoo Sport fires on all cylinders.

Great Sound, Battery Life and Build Quality. Bluetooth is a little weak but works well enough.
I got this stuff shipped out to Asia, and it arrived as promptly as they promised - almost the longest 2 weeks of my life.Worth the wait and the money though! I have used it for 5 days now, and i've never really had a product that has compelled me to leave a good review (yeah 4 Asian stars is good).Sound Quality - Seriously GoodThis is what compelled me to write the review after all. I rushed to unboxed it and quickly got it to work with my MacBook. Paired quickly and next thing i knew, magic started flowing out of it. I've had a couple of higher-end earbuds (EarSonics SM3, Westone 3, Ultimate Ears TripleFi, UE700, Klipsch S4, X10, Creative Aurvanas), though this is my first portable speaker. I was looking for a speaker with distinct speakers for lows and highs, and in particular highs that are not covered up by booming basses. The highs are clean, the mids are robust, and the bass is not over-powering. It worked really well to the light jazz and acoustics songs that i usually listen to. For earbuds, there tends to be a break-in period where they all sound crappy for the first 100hours or so. Not sure if this needs to be broken in as well? If it sounds this good out of the box, i look forward to a better future with this little guy. I would have given this full marks, but i'm Asian and therefore stingy with giving anything perfect scores.Volume - More than SufficientIgnore what they said about the volume being a deal breaker. I travel alot and i intended to use this for hotel rooms and the occasional driving. This is more than suitable for it. I have never had to turn this to anywhere near max volume, and i've never had to enter the loud mode at all. Even with the not insignificant road noise on my good old asian Honda City, mid-loudness was sufficient. I don't do those outdoor parties though. Asians don't do parties.Battery Life - Infinite5 days ago, the dude in the speaker told me the battery was about 3/4 full. After about 8 hours of usage at mid volume (because it's enough), the guy still told me that it was about 3/4 full. A quick back-of-the-envelope calculation with my superior mathematics worked that out to infinity. This stuff is magic.Build Quality - SolidThis is something i would throw at someone. It's definitely capable of doing substantial damage while keeping itself intact.Bluetooth Pairing - PassableSo this thing pairs really fast. I got it to work on my MacBook within 20 seconds. After a while, i connected it to my China Asian phone, which it also promptly recognized and fell subject to. Unfortunately, the range is really limited to 10m line-of-sight (we use meters everywhere else in the world. That's 33ft for you). Plenty of blind spots behind walls. But it's gonna work fine for my hotel room usage. There's also an issue with patchy connection with my Asian China phone. With my American made-in-China MacBook, i had some trouble connecting it this morning. The dude in the speaker kept saying "Connected, Disconnected, Connected, Disconnected". I eventually restarted the speaker and it's working fine now.Water and Dust - Not TestedThis thing is electronic. IT IS NOT NATURAL TO BE BATHING WITH ELECTRONICS IN YOUR BATHTUB WITH YOUR RUBBER DUCKIES. And honestly, I don't usually rub $150 on the floor, neither do i toss it in the sandpit.I'll update this again if it screws up, or if the sound breaks in and i get further impressed. In the meantime, I do think i've found a gem in this without overpaying for all the branding and advertising stuff. I might eventually get another one for true stereo sound. Whatever they say about the 6 speaker drivers, this thing is way too small for sound to be reaching both your ears in a surround-sound manner. I've tried balancing it on my head, no luck.

Surprisingly loud!
The media could not be loaded. This speaker's audio packs a punch in an otherwise small package. The speaker itself is about 6.5 inches long & about 2-3 inches high. But what's nice about this speaker is that it has a separate audio function allowing you to increase the volume on the speaker separate from the device it's connected to, allowing you to increase or decrease the volume separately on both the speaker itself & the device that you're using. Whereas most speakers when you increase the volume on them, it's just increasing the volume on your device that you're using.

Scoured every review on the internet for every top bt speaker in every category and am extremely satisfied with this bad boy.
I wasn't sure what to expect. I have read every review here and accross the internet for the Fugoo, UE Boom, Creative Roar, TDK A33, Libratone Zipp, both Bose, three Klipsch, Nyne Bass, Big Jambox and G-Boom. So many to choose from and no store nearby to hear them all. It really came down to the Boom and the Fugoo because of reviewed sound quality, size, and splash proofedness.I really wanted to buy the Roar, but its not really a beach/camping/travel type speaker. The Nyne Bass was simply too big. Maybe if it were just going to sit on a mantle, but I have a receiver and speakers in that case. The TDK was in the running till the end, but appeared to be a notch or two below the Fugoo and The Boom. Battery tech/life specifically.I think the Mini Bose is ugly. The Big Bose lacked battery life and sportyness. And honestly not a fan of bose.I was so concerned about sound, I really considered the Zipp. I really believe it has the best sound quality from my "research", but no bluetooth, 4 hour battery, and its too delicate to toss around in a bag or cooler or have kids play with it.The G-Boom seems too big also, but such a great price and such good reviews. If it was jobsite only, pretty sure this one would be a no-brainer, but I work in an office. For the Klipsch 3 its too big. Andrew Luck is a big guy and it still looks huge in his arms. D batteries . . . really?Klipsch 1 had several bad reviews here on amazon that I believed. One compares it unfavorably to the Boom. If its even in the same sound neighborhood and over $100 more than the Boom . . .Klipsch Gig, too many bad reviews. The Big Jambox has been out for like 3 years. They should rev it yearly and call it the Big Jambox III or something, like Bose does, to make me at least feel like they updated the tech. If they had, I probably wouldn't have even done the research and just bought that one right of the bat.UE Boom and Fugoo checked all the boxes. The only complaint I heard about the Fugoo was loudness which it sounded like it was addressed in several firmware updates. It had the best battery, most water proof, and maybe eensy bit better fidelity. So I bought it. The few days it took to receive, I was concerned that I should have bought the Boom.I opened the box, paired, put on some pink floyd. It sounded fantastic but definitely played way too quiet. I had it turned up all the way, 3 feet from my wife and she didn't even yell at me to turn it down. From someone who gets angry when I chew too loud, that is saying something. I went to the website, downloaded firmware and put it on there. Painless 5 minutes. I could probably piss her off from the next room now.I'm very happy. Its impressive engineering that they get the bass and sound quality from something so relatively small. It meets all my needs. I can't say if its better than the Boom, but I'm not really worried about it.Hope this helps.

Audio Quality has Decreased Significantly
I purchased a newer Fugoo speaker because my old one from 2017 died on me. The new model (lacking the mount screw holes on the bottom) is much worse than before. The sound quality is noticeably bad, as the audio comes out muffled and distorted, whereas with the original model it came out clear. The maximum volume is significantly lower as well, which will makes it harder to hear when used outdoors. The bluetooth pairing was easy, and I assume the battery life will be decent, but the audio quality is on par with cheap speakers that are handed out as swag at nearly every event.Save your money and take a pass on this brand.

Best all-around portable speaker I've owned. Incredible sound in a gorgeous package. You can take this speaker to the beach!!!
Where did Fugoo come from?!! Forget about the Bose, UE, or Jawbone. This is definitely the new top dog in portable speakers, especially if you want to actually go anywhere interesting with your portable speaker.I bought the Fugoo "Style" directly from Fugoo's website a couple of weeks back after reading all of the positive press from CES. After receiving the Style speaker, I was so impressed that I pre-ordered from Amazon a second Fugoo speaker, this time the "Sport" model. The two models are nearly the same, except the Sport is even more rugged than the Style. Here's what I'm loving about the Fugoo Sport:Sound quality -- This little speaker blew me away. Not only does it play clean and loud, but the sound is ACCURATE! The other guys (I'm pointing the finger at you, Bose!) artificially over-emphasize the bass sounds, which might sound OK at first, but really results in a lot of songs not sounding right at all. The Fugoo performs a much more difficult acoustic feat: providing great bass without making it sound boomy and fake. Very much appreciated by this audiophile.Durability -- I can't emphasize this enough: the waterproof/durable design of the Fugoo truly set this speaker apart from the others. After all, what's the point of a battery-powered portable speaker if you can't take it places without damaging it? I was able to drop the Fugoo in the sand at the beach, toss the Fugoo into a duffle bag with sporting gear for a day at the park, and bring it into the shower, all without any problems. Last fall I bought my daughter a Jambox to take to college, and after a few weeks, it was so banged up from being carried in her backpack with her books that it simply stopped working. The Fugoo looks tough enough to survive getting drop-kicked by the rugby team.Battery Life -- I didn't realize how important long battery life was until I started taking my speaker with me on day trips: to the beach, the park, hiking, and so on. The Fugoo battery blew me away by lasting all day long. Combining durability with a super-long battery life opens up all kinds of new possibilities for me... They claim a 30-hour battery life. I wonder if it could handle a full weekend-long camping trip? I'll have to give it a try.360-degree sound -- Somehow Fugoo have figured out how to make the speaker sound equally good in any direction; back, front, side, wherever. This turns out to be a really useful quality of the speaker, since you can put it in the middle of a group of people, and they all will hear good sound.I also love the accessories, and plan to buy the strap mount (strap it to a tree, a pole, a backpack, whatever) and waterproof remote control. The bike mount also could be a lot of fun.BOTTOM LINE: Fugoo, you've just made a new fan. I love every obviously-carefully-thought-through detail you put into this speaker, and I know what I'll be recommending from here on to all my friends.
