This did a decent job of cleaning the area carpet in my living room. I don't have any pets and there are no smokers in the house, so pet stains and odors were not a problem. Actually, the rug had no stains on it because we don't eat in there. It did not do as good a job as I had hoped on some high traffic areas. like in front of the sofa and the chair. I did not care for the smell, but most of it disappeared after a while. I have a feeling that it will take several vacuumings to get all of the powder up. This sort of reminds me of a product that they had several years ago. I don't know if they even still sell it. It was a kit that supposedly "dry cleaned" your clothes in the dryer. You put the item in a plastic bag with a sheet of something and put it in the dryer. Did it really clean the item? No. Just sort of freshened it up. I would compare this carpet cleaning to that. But it did beat dragging out my shampooer, simply for the convenience. Don't know if I'll use again once this is gone. Have to think about it.

Capture is amazing how it can take stains out of carpets. Think of a brand new cream colored carpet with the overflow of dirty water from a plant tray. Capture took it away. Next week, same mistake of overwatering. Capture took it away. Think dusty rose carpet in a church foyer that has a huge coffee stain splatter for a year. Capture took it away.

My go-to carpet cleaner for my Oreck Orbiter. Our off white carpets are 27 years old and we have a houseful of cats, along with their messes, but when I use this product, the carpets clean up and look almost new again.

Left behind white residue even after scrubbing and vacuuming with a shop vac. Did not work on low pile carpet. Obvious stains left behind. It worked about 50% as good as shown. If your carpet has light staining it may work better for you. 3 Stars as it is better than nothing though it is a pain/mess (and you will absolutely want to make sure you vacuum up all the dust carefully!) I would try the product again on less tightly knit carpet or on newer stains.
