I replaced a set of barely worn metallic pads with these because the metallic squealed. The are much quieter, but not silent. The squeal is completely gone, but they do make a bit of noise, mostly in reverse. I think most would find these completely acceptable from a noise standpoint. What is important is how well they work. They are nice and grabby, I really like that. Even though the front pads do the majority of the work, swapping out just the rear pads raised the pedal and gave it that instant bite. I love the feel of nice tight brakes. They are a little touchy, but that's a lot better than having push the pedal hard to get the car to stop. My only knock is the lack of retaining clips or silicone grease. I had grease and I cleaned up the old clips using a wire brush and a dremel. For a few extra bucks, these should be included always.

A simple box with brake pads shouldn't break the bank nor be a technical nightmare. My rear brakes were making noise after just two years so I changed the out. The old ones had plenty (70%) on the right, but wore heavy on the driver side. A squeal was the result of a bent heat shield. Put in the new Power Stop, and well, the most important function of the car is back!
