BBK 17375 Blackout Finish Cold Air Induction Intake System for Ford Mustang

I was considering installing a K&N filter on my 05 convertible but did a little research on the cold air induction systems. In the end I decided on the BBK as it seemed to be the best fit for my budget. I was not disappointed with the selection either. The install was really straightforward and it took me about 45 minutes to remove the stock air box and get the BBK installed. Make sure to disconnect your battery before you start the conversion or you will see the "check engine" light come on. I didn't have this issue but be forewarned. Right now I'm running the factory tune with this unit and I'm satisfied with the performance I've gotten thus far. This is on the 4.0 V6 and it does help with the horsepower and gas mileage, at least for me. I recommend this product wholeheartedly as you will not be disappointed with the end result.

This CAI is very solidly built and easy to install. Noticed the improvement in performance immediately! The tube looks plastic in all photos I have seen however it and the shroud are metal and feel high quality. Packaging is also high quality. You can tell BBK takes pride in their products. If you are looking for a good first upgrade to your pony this is the one to get. A+++ all around.

The heat shield has dings & missing paint, but the biggest problem is all the rust scattered throughout the inside of the intake.

Yeah, wanna make your teenage boy happy? Get him one of these. Works great, no idea if it actually improves the HP, but it looks cool and makes him happy. DO NOT FORGET TO DISCONNECT THE BATTERY or it will trip a check engine light. If it does, disconnect the battery for a few minutes and let the computer do it's thing, it really does NOT require a tune, but it does require a re-learn by the computer.

its ok, i felt a difference at first, but later i found out it had a leak where the maf sensor sits, had to replace it.

I have no complaints with the performance of the product, 8 months (about 6,000 miles) after install The boost in power is noticeable and very near as advertised. The single complaint I do have is with the instructions/diagrams. It took a combination of the instructions and pictures on the box to get it right. My first attempt at installation, the check engine light came on. So I studied the box photos then corrected the issue. I reset the check engine light and no further problems since. Total installation time, including check engine reset: about 2 - 2.5 hours. The skill level required is about equal to the difficulty of a brake job, coming from someone who has a high school-level background in auto mechanics. As long as you are patient with the install, be meticulous in reading ahead and following the specific steps in the instructions, the boost in performance is worth it.

Great product easy to install. Nicely shipped. Best investment ever made. Definitely a must for a v6 mustangs, the power and rev is just smooth like a butter. I am very very happy with this purchase
