Best purchase I've made in years!
The media could not be loaded. Because I knew very little about CNC machines I began researching several months before I bought my 3018 Plus in order to get the best machine for my dollar. I found this 3018 Plus router had several features that are usually upgrades. The frame is very sturdy with 12mm diameter guide rods rather than the 10mm guide rods found on other 3018 routers. It comes with a powerful spindle motor, 500 watts rather than the 75 watt motors normally found on these small routers. This router comes with limit switches which are often an option. The instructions that came with the router had good pictures on how to assemble the frame but the controller and wiring were another story. No problem that youtube couldn't solve and I had the router put together in a few hours. I did not realize all the things I had to learn just to operate the machine, but I have an open schedule and continue to learn more every day. First I made a couple of tool holder for the cutting bits. I made a collet holder and even marked where each size goes because those little yellow plastic boxes they came in were a pain. I made a clock after that and now I am trying to create relief carvings. It should be noted that the 3018 Plus is like any other power machine tool, you have to buy other things before you can really do much. It comes with a single collet and bit so plan on dropping some money on accessories. If you aren't real familiar with CNC and machine code, you will likely need to watch some videos on youtube. Don't get discouraged! The folks at Annoytools are very friendly and helpful. The most difficult part of all was finding out how to contact them through Amazon. I had a limit switch go bad and the people at Annoytools are an absolute pleasure to deal with. I received answers within an hour no matter whether it was day or night, even on weekends. I've already upgraded the frame with the extension kit they sell and used the original frame extrusions to raise the X and Z axis by 20mm as you can see on the pictures. This little machine was the best purchase I made in years! I can't recall when I have had so much fun. If I can learn how to operate this router from scratch and make things, I am confident you can too!

Perfect CNC for small projects
I bought this CNC primarily to crave wood boards for my kids so they can learn how to sell things in Etsy. It works amazing for that purpose. I have yet to try if I can use it as a CNC mill for aluminum and steel but I have access to Brother and Doosan CNC for that purpose.Assembly was difficult and take couple of hours to complete, the instructions were good and quite detail. It does require steady hand as leveling this and having squaring assembly is crucial for proper milling but at the end it’s a simple mill that I can run at home to do simple projects. I do plan on doing other projects besides working on craving woods, if my kids get into laser etching then I might buy the laser attachment to enable that functionality. At this time I have no idea how long will the motor last as cutting wood shouldn’t be putting to much pressure but time will tell. I highly recommend this if you are trying to get into milling to play around with it.

Just received machine
Just received today. Will attempt to assemble tomorrow and update the review as I go. I have unpacked the box and everything seems of good quality. The stepper motors are labeled Lunyee Industries, 42BYGH48H-A-18D, KH 2021 03 20. One website referred to this as a strong Nema 17. I think the 48 refers to 48 mm long.09/13/21Now have the machine mostly assembled. Some notes:1) The spindle motor was shorter than the 100v 500W motors advertised on Amazon, but I found versions on a popular Chinese website for a 48v 500W motor that exactly matched the dimensions. The collet holder has an extremely tight fit to the motor shaft, and I have not succeeded in getting it together. Have sent seller a question.2) The long M4 screws that mount the spindle assembly to the frame were a few hundreds of an inch too long and the screws bottomed out on the aluminum mounting extrusions without getting fully tight. I solved this problem by using some of the m5 washers supplied. However I ran out of washers for some of the non critical areas.3) My kit did not include the promised emergency stop switch.09/14/21Hugh work to put this thing together! I received reply from seller. He is going to credit me with $10 to buy an emergency stop button. Also he suggests that I use heat and tap with a hammer to try and get the collet onto the spindle. However it did not work see picture. Using a heat gun I was able to get the part up to about 300 degrees F (per my thermal camera) but was not able to to either get the collet off or on farther. Right now it stands at about 1/4 inch on (ideally it should be 3/4 inches). The motor does spin smoothly, so maybe it is OK.So now have gotten router to connect to my computer candle program and can move the cutter on table as well as up and down, and turn on the spindle. See pictures of finished assembly. The motor is mounted as far down as possible, but still may loose a little height because of the collet mounting problem. Tomorrow will try to mill something.09/17/21Have now machined a "spoil board" from MDF per YouTube instruction videos and download files. The cutting went smoothly once things were setup properly (there is quite a learning curve). The result was less than perfect as the flat cutter left a series of saw tooth ridges. I determined that the problem was caused by the spindle axis is not being perpendicular to cutting table - see picture. There does not seem to be an adjustment for this. For most jobs this would not be a problem. In conclusion I will keep my 3 star rating. I would go to 5 stars if the collet were to go completely onto the spindle motor and if the spindle axis was perpendicular. For now the first issue is not a problem, but I think there is risk that it will create future trouble. I will try to update this review in future once I attempt to cut more difficult material like plexiglass or aluminum.10/2/21Seller has sent a procedure to adjust z axis to make it perpendicular, and it has worked. I have therefor increased my rating to 4 stars.

Accomplishes its function
The instructions do not show how to connect the wires to the motors and how to install the limit switches. As such, I assume the provided instructions are for a slightly different machine. Overall, it is a great machine that accomplishes its function.
