Review: Brilliant Router, Plusnet FTTP connection - With me moving to FTTP instead of the copper cable Broadband, I wanted to get rid of my Fibre optic ADSL Router and have my setup like a Virgin Cable setup. Having FTTP I can now have a long Ethernet cable plugged into the BT ONT modem which is on the wall and the Ethernet plugged into the WAN Router. This ASUS router is amazing and now all the DSL settings have now gone it makes it a easier setup for myself being a WAN user over a FTTP (Fibre To The Property). Whether you are a FTTP or a Cable user this Router will work for both. I’m using this on my Plusnet FTTP and it is a brilliant router with lots of Wi-Fi signal too. **Q: So what else do i need to plug in to this to make it work?**
A: Turn your router which was supplied from your service provider into modem mode then run an ethernet cable from Lan 1 port on that router into into the Wan port on the Asus router! Download the app which is on a card in the box and preform a quick Internet setup! From there feel free to change the settings to what best suits your needs! I hope that helps!

**Q: Can it run multiple ssids on seperate 2.4ghz and 5ghz that are not guest mode? example mywifi1 and mywifi2**
A: You can have one SSID for 2.4GHz and another one for 5GHz. This is how I have mine. (You can also have multiple guest networks with their own SSIDs on 2.4 and/or 5GHz too. This is handy not just for guests, but also for any of those IoT devices that want internet access and need your WiFi password, but might have questionable security - like a hard-coded password. You can run these on the guest network and have it separate to the rest of your gear)

**Q: Can you replace the sky q hub with this ie does it support mer ?**
A: Sky q is a beast unto itself.  Short answer yes,  u may get a conflict when setting up your boxes for the router.  Sky don't say this but just enter the sky q install setup and change the wireless channel.  I had to do this back when I had a bt smart hub as the wireless frequency used by the q boxes to communicate with each other conflicted with the routers frequency although the asus router is more customisable than the bt sm so could do it that way.    The issue is the sky q main box can't communicate with the mini box, Internet is unaffected if this clash exists but it's an easy fix if your tech savvy

**Q: Can it replace Vodafone gigabox router? Just simply change the pppoe config with tag 10?**
A: Yes it should be able to do that as long as you know what wan settings to use

With me moving to FTTP instead of the copper cable Broadband, I wanted to get rid of my Fibre optic ADSL Router and have my setup like a Virgin Cable setup. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Solved all my problems!

I upgraded from my virgin superhub 3 which was awful, but I didn't realise how bad it was until I tried this. My signal strength greatly improved, soo much so that I no longer need my tp link signal booster, it reaches even further than that does! I get no more intermittent wifi drops and get a constant stable WiFi speed now, which is essential for all the devices I have which is over 10 smart devices, a gaming pc, a working from home laptop, tvs, firesticks and many more attached to it at all times and it handles them all with no issues whatsoever.
