Mounting depth is NOT what's stated. What is stated is the depth on the deep end. Shallow end that the subs magnet hits is 5.25". If your sub requires more you have to cut the back out then mount the sub then build with wood sealed with silicone up to clear the sub. Disappointed to say the least.
