Does this come with a rack and post to insert through the turkey?

Yes it does. The rack and post are included. The "hanger handle" is used to lift out the post and rack but also works on the straining basket that has its own handle.

How big is the basket?

I’ve cooked a 16 lb Turkey in it. Peck of oysters at a time too.
