Review: They work! - I have been wanting to try "period panties" for years because I have been trying to simplify my life to include mainly things that are practical for me and reduce my waste. I waited a couple cycles of use before writing this review. These panties are full coverage for me. For reference, I wear a size 6 in Old Navy and size 8-10 in everything else. I have lots of butt and thighs. I ordered the XL size in these panties and they are not tight and do not give me wedgies throughout the day. They come up about midrise for me and I'm slightly overweight with mom pooch from multiple kids. The actual panties are soft to touch and soft against the skin. The bamboo protection area comes up about a few inches from the top hem in the front and goes all the way up to the top hem of the panties in the back. There is a slight swishing noise at first (like a tiny windbreaker) but it seems to go away after a couple of washes. Since "heavy" is subjective, I will just explain my usage of pads and these panties. I typically use the "super" and "long" pads with "wings" when "Aunt Flo" visits. I used to change them every 2-3 hours and one change overnight for the first two days. Accidents on the sides, the front or the back happened about once at the beginning of every cycle if i didn't place the pad just right. Then my flow would decrease for the rest of the time. I tried these panties with no pads to see how effective they are. For the first two days, I changed them every 3-4 hours when I used the restroom and one change overnight. After that, I did not have to change them as often. I did, though, to be sanitary. Honestly, throughout my cycle they could have stayed on longer but I did not want to put them back on after using the restroom. Also, I have had no accidents or leaks when using these panties. I rinse them in the sink in cold water and I keep a bottle of lavender castile soap near the sink to use for handwashing them. I also keep a spray bottle with hydrogen peroxide for first aid and it helps to keep these clean. For public restroom use, a woman could purchase those wet bags for cloth diapers or swimwear and throw the used panties in there to rinse out in the privacy of her home. Rinsing is super easy, just need to keep rubbing together under cold water until the water is clear. Sometimes a soak is necessary before scrubbing. I have handwashed and hang dried. I have handwashed and put into the dryer. And I have also just rinsed, sprayed with peroxide and thrown them in with my regular dark clothes in the regular washer and dryer. None of the processes have changed the performance of these panties. And all have resulted in the panties staying soft against the skin. I have purchased another pack of these so that I don't have to handwash as often. I don't plan to go back to sanitary napkins ever again! I'm very satisfied with this purchase. Very practical. Such a small investment for a huge return in my life! Review: Literally changed my life. - I could not be happier with my purchase. These underwear have literally improved my life so much. I have PCOS, and I bleed a LOT when I'm in the middle of my period. I would use a super tampon and two staggered overnight pads, and I would have large gushes, or the pads would shift, and there went another pair of pants ruined, or another set of sheets stained. I was really curious about all the period underwear I have seen popping up lately, but they tended to run between $30 and $50 for a SINGLE pair, so I was hesitant to drop so much money on something that I wasn't sure I was going to like. I finally decided I would just experiment with cheaper ones until I could narrow down what I was looking for. However, these were the first ones I bought, and I'm not looking anymore because I am SO happy with these. Even with my extremely heavy flow, I can safely wear just a single tampon, because I know that when I have some leakage, the underwear will keep me from making a mess. When my first period began after I bought these, I put them on for bed with no other protection. No pads, no tampons, because my period was just getting started and was very light. I woke up in the morning to pee, and I was really upset when I pulled my underwear down and saw that my period had ramped way up overnight, because I was wearing new pajama shorts that I really liked. However, I was COMPLETELY shocked when I realized that my pajama shorts were totally dry and clean. The underwear kept everything in. As the week went on, it was more of the same! Like I said earlier, I have an abnormally heavy flow, and no matter what sanitary product I use, I have leakage. It is so relieving to not have to stress about getting to the bathroom just in time, or waking up in the middle of the night, because I know I'm going to be protected. Now I want to tell you how a typical day goes for me with these underwear. All I use is a tampon and these underwear. Once again, I have a heavier period than most, so I will leak a few times a day. When I get to the bathroom and see that the underwear have been dirtied, I simply take them off and put on a new pair - no more messy pants and underwear to try and clean and hopefully salvage. Because I will go through a few pairs a day, I've got two sets of these, and I'll probably get a third so I don't have to wash in the middle of the week. Some other things about these underwear: - The lining does not stain. After I dirtied them, I didn't bother to spot clean, since they were going to be used for my period anyway. However, when I put them in the wash, the stains came right out! I have the black ones with the gray lining. - They hold a lot, but they don't keep the wetness away from your body like a pad does. A pad tends to keep you drier than these do. So if you do leak into these, you're going to need to, at the very least, clean up with some wipes. I don't consider this a huge deal, but I thought I'd mention it. - Size up if you're flabby like me, but don't go crazy - you want them to be snug against your body. They are not the most comfortable underwear I own, because they are a little tight and my normal size was digging into my legs and abdomen. I ordered my second set a size bigger, and it was much better, but still a little tighter than I wear my normal underwear. - They are not completely silent. If I leave the house in denim shorts and I'm out and about, I don't notice any noise. But when I'm home wearing flimsier, thinner bottoms (think pajama shorts), you can definitely hear a little swishing sound. - Since I've had these underwear, I have leaked outside of them ONE TIME, just a tiny bit, because I must have been sleeping funny and the underwear shifted in a weird way and wasn't covering me anymore. I have not had a single issue with the underwear failing to absorb everything. - I have been machine washing them, no issues. - They are still shaped like a normal pair of underwear, so if you wanted to wear a pad with these, you could. I cannot stress enough how much these underwear have helped me. I used to be in the bathroom every hour or two, changing my two huge pads, changing my tampon, cleaning up whatever mess I made all over myself and my clothes. Now, the most work I have to do is putting on a clean pair of underwear. Definitely give these a try before you buy more expensive versions.

Great Price!!! Great product!!!
I absolutely love these panties. I have a couple of really heavy flow days. I have soiled my clothes a few times at work because of sudden gushes. These panties have save me a few times. When I wear these, I’m confident that I won’t have an “accident.” Also, they fit great. I’m about a 14 in pants my hips are about 47” and my waist 40”. I ordered a 2xl and they fit. I like a slightly snugger fit than what these offer. That’s not to say that they a extra loose; it’s my personal choice. For example, I don’t care for the fit of boy short underwear. These fit like that. If you like boy short underwear you’ll love the fit of these. I’ve had these for several months. There is no smell or stains. I wash these in the washing machine (without fabric softener) and hang them to dry. They are easy to care for. They are also great to use when you know your cycle is coming but hasn’t began. They can handle the first few hours without fail provided that you don’t start very heavy. They well save your clothes and they’re comfortable!!

Surprising!!
Ya'll ready for some T? okay so i ordered these (twice) bc due to two natural unpleasant births and a large body I have some bladder leakage and a butt sweat issue that normally has me wearing a liner on the daily. I got these to reduce my impact on the environment as well as to not have bleached plastic/fibers against my skin exacerbating other issues. These are absolutely not a replacement for a pad etc... The inner layer is literally the absorbency of a t-shirt. Okay, I am 300lbs wear a 24/26 pant and an 11 in store brand underwear, measurements are 50"waist 55" hip. Initially I ordered the black mesh 4 pack in a 4x and they changed my life. The fabric is smooth, breathable, and stretchy. They are very full coverage in the front/back and fit similar to a high cut leg fruit of the loom in the leg area, the crotch is very wide which is pretty handy to prevent leakage. BUT I have no butt, all my junk is in the front so I did have some looseness in the outside of the cheek area but did not affect functionality at all. There is a rustly noise when worn alone but it can't be heard once you're dressed. I decided that 4 pair were not enough since it is recommended to handwash/hang dry. I did put them through a cold gentle wash cycle and an air dry only dryer cycle and had no issues. I next ordered the 5pack multicolor bamboo cotton in a 3xl hoping to offset the loose cheeks and they fit very well too, the front hits about an inch below my belly button where as the black mesh 4xl hit right at my belly button. Overall I love them and they are life changing.

They do the job BUT
So, this is my honest review. I give this a star simply because the cons out way the pro. So for starters, the pro: I have moderate/medium cycle, and I wore these like normals under wear! I wore these half of the day and slept through the night with them like normal underwear. They completely held! I had no leaking, or even went to the sides, but did not leak through the material at all. Needless to say they hold AMAZINGLY! Cons: Firstly, the sizing. If you are on the bigger side like me, you want something to go over your tummy to hold you in. These don’t do that, they only go on your waste. Secondly, order at LEAST 2 sizes up, because even the x large is so small. Thirdly, the material SUCKS an absorbing, it get everywhere, and is messy, but it hold nicely and does not leak. Fourth, the material in the back is so baggy, and make a weird noise when you walk. So if your going out I would avoid wearing these with normal clothes unless your at home.

Changed My Life
These are not perfect, but in my opinion, the pros definitely outweigh the cons and you can't really beat the value. Pros: These panties completely changed the way I feel during that time of the month. They feel like I'm wearing regular underwear, so I FINALLY don't have to walk around with a pad in between my legs all day. My periods are super heavy, so pad and tampon are a must. With these, I only have to wear a tampon. My first time wearing them, I felt dry for hours, went to the bathroom and I was shocked to see that the tampon basically only absorbed half of what wanted to come out. The whole party was red, but it had absorbed and I never even noticed it. It never leaked. I am totally comfortable in these! Paired with Flex or a cup, these are life changers! I feel like a normal person. Oh, and they don't smell. Even when you sweat... somehow they keep the smell from escaping when you're wearing them. Complete life changers. I will never go back to pads. Cons: They are pretty noisy with leggings. I pretty much only wear leggings and these have a fairly noticeable rubbing sound when you walk. Sounds like when you wear thick panty hose. But really, no will know what it's from, so it doesn't bother me too much. Also, I have a big butt.. but these are a little loose in the butt area for some reason (not usually a problem that I have). It hasn't affected their protection against leaks, but o just feel like I gave to pull them down a good bit. All in all, not much to complain about. I love them. I am hooked on period panties now. UPDATE: (TMI alert) For reasons that are irrelevant, I ended up having to wear a pair of these all day with no other source of protection. Not a super heavy flow, but definitely not light, which is not what these are supposed to be made for. However, they worked extremely well. No leaks. In fact, unlike pads, where it runs down and then soaks in, it soaks in right away in these, so it doesn't even look (or feel) like much at all--even though I knew it was--and it never even got close to the sides of the underwear. It soaked up quickly and somehow kept me feeling dry. 1 pair, 8 hours. I felt like I was wearing regular underwear and had no problems. I have no earthly idea how these thin panties can do that. It didn't seem possible. Like I said, not a light flow, but they did, and I was amazed. So there you have it. I HIGHLY recommend these.

So Much Better than Thinx
I steered clear of period underwear for awhile. I have a heavier period and the whole idea of it just felt a little gross, to be honest, haha. Then I decided to try it out before an upcoming vacation -- it seemed like, if it worked, much more comfortable than pads or at least a decent overnight option. I originally went balls out and spent $40/pair on the BIG NAME brand (Thinx). I unwisely bought many many pairs and subsequently lost all the info they came with and missed the return deadline. They are worthless. Maybe they'd work for someone with almost no period who bleeds magically straight down the center of their undies every time, but for anyone with a moderate or heavy period, or who even moves at all during the day and may leak front, back, or sideways? No cigar. You'll leak. Their gusset is way short and they're thick and not breathable. I could use them as a tampon backup but they're so thick and awkward. SO I ended up on here. I figured I'd try these... after all, I got like 5x for the price of the other ones. I really wish I would have done this first (I now own many sets). These are thinner fabric, so you don't really feel like you're in a diaper or thick pair of swimsuit undies, way more comfortable! The gusset for protection goes MUCH higher in front and all the way up the back -- so you're really, actually, protected from leaks. Even at night. I've also tested them around the house for a long time, and they hold a lot. They also rinse out easy peasy in the wash, without ruining any other clothes (I don't always remember to pre-rinse them), and I have somehow had zero staining -- I was worried they'd look pretty gnarly after one use. No smell, which some folks worry about. So... all in all, these are WAY better! They do, IMO, run small. I'd order up. Not CRAZY up so you don't have decent leg hole sizing, but definitely up a size.

Too much info but try to answer real questions!
Five pairs of period underwear arrived in a pouch. I like the colors and the feel of the fabric. There is light elastic on the legs and waist so nothing digs into either my legs or lovehandles. Can you wear them instead of a pad? Well yes on super light days or when you’re almost done with your period. Here’s way too much info but I hope it helps. I forgot my diva cup. Between getting two kids a dog and a grandma out the door, my needs were forgotten (can you relate???) so I have tried these out on a heavy flow day on accident. Good news, no leaks. Yes, when I finally was able to go take care of business it was not pretty to remove said underpants, etc etc, but my jeans were not stained while out on the town. Would I do this again, def not on purpose but it does give peace of mind to know these are quite good at keeping bodily fluids contained, even massive amounts. Washing! I find the best way for me is to soak them in the sink with OxyFree to remove stains. Then I toss all five pairs in the wash for an extra clean. Yes, Im probabaly weird, but this is how I keep them clean and sanitary. The crinkle in the fabric is there sometimes or not. Depends on how they washed and dried. I don’t hear it and I’m not aware of it once they are on. They are fine under all my clothes. They’re kind of big, so if you’re wearing tight pants you may see some of the seems. For me, they don’t show in my clothes. Pants. Dresses. Whatever is all good. They don’t go up my bum either. No picking or pulling out. Thank goodness. These are not for everyone. My sister finds leak protection panties "disgusting." For me personally, I prefer not to bleed through my dress and leave a stain on a chair at work - now that is "disgusting!" I'll happily wear grandma style, plasticy panties for a few days a month to avoid a disaster and have peace of mind. To each their own:-) Overall I give these a five because I’ve had them over a year and they do what they’re made for. I’ve had zero leaks and zero stains on clothes.

Buen producto
